Perfect size for my office!
Packaging: As some have noted, around the edges of the fridge there's not much padding, so I can see how it'd get dented if those handling the package were a bit clumsy. Luckily, mine unwrapped in perfect condition from as far as I can see. The one confusing part is there was a "corner" piece of black plastic that at first I thought was a cracked off corner of the fridge, but a quick inspection proved me wrong. The manual has a nice breakout diagram of all components internal and external, and not seeing this piece in that diagram, I can only conclude that it was simply a packaging device meant to help stabilize the unit within the packaging during shipping.Size: The fridge is 27" high as advertised. Fits great under my office desk furniture - the bottom of the desk to the floor is 28", making it a perfect fit. It's barely larger than a small letter-sized filing cabinet.Noise level: There's a very low humming sound as you'd expect, but it's not very loud, and barely noticeable when there's other ambient noise, even low volume music in the office. No complaints here.Function: I plugged it in at 9:30am this morning, and by 1pm, I now have two cases of cold Red Bull. Pretty efficient!Other notes: I wish there were more height positions for the shelves. There are only 2 slotted positions for the lower half-shelf and 4 slotted positions for the upper full shelves. The slots are fine for cola cans, but red bull cans or water bottles are just a little too tall, which essentially has you adjust the shelves to where the top shelf is very tiny or you just remove one of the shelves entirely. I guess that's fine, it'll be my "sandwich shelf" but it would've been nice to have just a little more flexibility.

Uneven Cooling
Although this Danby refrigerator looks nice and seems sturdy overall, I am not happy with my purchase of it, do not recommend this model, and probably would not purchase the brand again. In my opinion, the unit is too expensive to have the issues that it does. The main issue is that the unit cools very unevenly. The Black and Decker fridge that I had previously was much better than this one, for less than half the price of the Danby unit. It was the same size, and did not cool unevenly. With the Danby fridge, drinks on the bottom two shelves will freeze while at the same time the drinks on the top shelf are so warm they are not at a pleasant drinking temperature.I bought this unit because I thought having a fridge without a freezer would mean more space for my drinks, but did not expect that the top shelf wouldn’t cool adequately, and thus would be space not utilized the way that I intended it to be.Also, the bottom row of the can rack on the inside broke off from the door within a week. And, the leveling leg that is on one side only of the fridge causes that side to be higher. I had to place something under the other leg to even it out. The leveling leg is adjusted to make it as short as it can be and it still causes that side to be higher. The floor is not uneven and the Black and Decker fridge that was in the spot previously was not tilted at all.I called Danby customer service to get some assistance, with my main concern being the uneven cooling. The customer service person I spoke to seemed to have no knowledge of anything, and when I asked, said there was no one else there to assist me, so I said I would call back another time. I said that I was unhappy that I couldn’t get any assistance, but would call back and thanked her for her time. There was no response, so I thanked her again and then she hung up on me, without ever responding or making any type of closing comment.I did call Danby customer service again recently, and the person I spoke to was pleasant enough, but had no helpful information to offer, although he did state that the next size up, the 3.3, has a fan to help even out the interior temperature of the unit.So based on my experience, it seems like this fridge, which isn’t much smaller than the 3.3 size, would be greatly improved with an interior fan to even out the cooling.

A Perfect Choice!
This compact all-fridge (no freezer) refrigerator is perfect for a 2nd fridge--exactly what we wanted and needed. We have it in our garage sitting on a table near the door. It has just the perfect amount of space inside for what we use it for, and works very well AND it looks great! It arrived relatively well packaged, although there was/is a small dent on the top. However, I'm not going to quibble over that since it was shipped in just 2 days, and is very heavy--not surprising there was a dent. I'm grateful that was all that was wrong, judging from other reviews. This Danby replaced a smaller (1.3 cu ft) and much older compact fridge that simply died, and it is by far a great improvement. The only thing it is lacking is a light inside. You can't just go and open it up in the semi-darkness of the evening and expect to see what you're getting. I leave a small flashlight on top to use to see inside, but I can live with that. However, it would seem to me to be a small thing to add to the production of this fridge and I'd be happy to pay extra for that inside light! I must note that I researched small refrigerators before buying this one. I checked at Sears, Home Depot, and Best Buy before I ordered this. I so glad I didn't buy any of the other ones I saw, some for a lot more money, which were not nearly the quality that this Danby is.
