Good versatile portable mixer and a great value.
I like this portable mixer because it runs 15 hours on just two AA alkaline batteries (an AC Adapter is optional and not every music store has them). It delivers a very quiet background; I did not detect any audible hiss, hum or noise; the pots are quiet and overall, a very neutral sound (S/N listed as >80db, THD: 0.01% (22Hz - 22KHz @ nominal gain).INPUTS: Channel #1 & #2: It has two (with or without 24v phantom power) 4k impedance balanced XLR mic inputs which can also accept 1/4" (6.3mm) balanced mono plugs (each with a switch to cut -20 db if needed), Channel #3 & #4: two pair of (line) L&R Female RCAs and with Channel 4 only, one 1/8" (3.5mm) Female stereo jack (for CD player, iPOD, Cassette, etc.) giving a total of seven (7) input connections for a total of four (4) separately adjustable channels.OUTPUTS: One 1/8" female stereo headphone (3.5mm) jack with an independent volume adjust (using my very efficient Grado headphones I get plenty of volume; rated headphone output 30mW Stereo @ 32 Ohm), one pair L&R Female RCAs, one Male XLR balanced and one 1/4" (6.3mm) mono Female balanced. The construction is quite robust and the case is a quality metal; weight = 2.25 lbs. (1.03kg); size = 7.2" L x 4" W x 2" H. I do wish the input gain control knobs were recessed and a transport case would help but overall, I am very satisfied.

Horribly made. We needed to use this for a gig with batteries. The battery compartment is attached by two screws. Using a properly sized screw driver one of the screws would not come out (there is no dedicated bushing for the screw to turn into, its just metal threaded into the case). The screw stripped and would not budge. We had to use a drill to drill out the screw! Why on earth would you use such soft metal on a screw and then install it so tightly or improperly that it could not be removed? Also, the markings on the case are not clear-coated so they scratch off immediately with any contact. Lastly, its very heavy for a portable device. I would not recommend it and we are looking for a better solution for a battery-powered mixer.

Works well
I'm satisfied with this product although one of the knobs has a little grit when you rotate it ( doesn't effect the sound). I wish the thing had a volume knob or switch for the main outs so that you could cut it allowing practice using the headphones without bothering the rest of the band. Still, the product is exactly as described, and the signal is very quiet which is excellent.

Solidly built, good components, but too much hiss
This would be a great unit, if only it didn't generate so much hiss at all outputs - mono, stereo & phones. I opened it up to see if there was anything obvious such as bad solder joints or low grade components, but not the case. It's very well made, with quality components, so I'm stymied as to why it generates so much hiss. I've emailed their service dept to see if they can offer any suggestions, but if they can't then I shall probably send it back & try another manufacturer's product.
