Shaving Brush # 90065 Syntex 100% Synthetic RED

holy heck it's a great brush. There are almost certainly better brushes out there for more money, but coming from the escali "pure badger" (pure pile of crap) it's a massive step in the right direction.

A bit of a disappointment- *Update below*The bristles are very soft and it is effortless to get a lather that is almost endless. The disappointing part is the way the brush just slops on the lather giving me several blobs on my shirt or floor every time. Makes it a bit hard to work in a lather on one's face. I'm gonna keep trying this brush in hopes I can get the right technique for this (synthetic) brush but so far I love my Perfecto.*Update*So after some time struggling I have learned to love this brush. The trick seems to be to simply dip it in the hot water and squeeze most of the water out. This gave me great thick lather quickly and that lasts and lasts. I recently got a tin of shave soap that didn't give a thick lather with my perfecto brush (which it is well known as a poor lather soap) so I forced myself to figure out this brush and now with any of the 3 tins/pucks of shave soap I get really good lather that just lasts. I would now recommend this brush to most people but with a caveat that they squeeze most of the water out before using.

My husband is just getting into the straight edge shaving game. He seems to have a love hate relationship with this shaving brush. It isn't the softess thing and I hear him complain about that, but then he says it gets the job done. So if you are looking for something to just get the job done, give it a try. If you wants something softer, maybe try a different one.

If you can't do better, this is fine, I'm sure it is as good as it gets with synthetic. Pretty sloppy really.Use 100% badger, and you'll immediately see why people love badger hair brushes. This synthetic brush doesn't compare. And given that you can get some pretty good badger hair brushes for not much more money (or even the same money) why settle for fake?

I wish the handle was a natural untreated wood. There was a bit of a learning curve. It took me about a week to figure out I could lather in my palm and work up a real nice lather. After learning this, the brush produces more lather than the badger brush I switched from and it just seems to keep lathering and lathering...If any badgers are reading this: Nothing personal, just sharing my honest opinion.

This brush is in short awesome.I was concerned how this would perform,but after several uses it is on parwith my best badger,maybe a bit better.If you are looking for synthetic try this brush.
