If you have to pack out your waste, like in many national and state parks
If you have to pack out your waste, like in many national and state parks, this is the way to do it. The powder turns everything into a solid clump that is easy to transport and throw into a garbage can. The bags themselves are not smell-proof, they need a smell-proof bag to put them in while you are packing them out. You can buy the other kits that come with the storage bag, I highly recommend it, otherwise your backpack smells like a port-a-potty. These bags are very thick and very large. They are way more than you need for a single-use day hike. And heavy too for long hikes. But with that said, you can use them several times before you need to throw them out.

Sturdy bags that hold about a gallon of urine
We lived in a basement without a bathroom for 9 weeks while waiting for our house to be ready to be moved in to. (We did have access to bathrooms upstairs, but since I’d recently had back surgery, I also had to use a potty chair down in the finished basement.) I am sorry to give you WAY more info than you ever wanted to know! Anyway, these bags worked well in the “potty chair” for urine. It comes with a product that you put into the bag to decrease the smell, so there was no offensive odor down there. I believe this powder also makes everything biodegradable in landfills or when you are camping. The bags are thick enough not to leak. However, a gallon of urine is about the max it holds. Someone has to review these items.

They worked great! I used them in a collapsible "bedside" potty ...
I used these while camping with no facilities. They worked great! I used them in a collapsible "bedside" potty and was able to pee a few times before needing to wrapping it all up! I have looked at a lot of products, these seem the best so far!

Undersized for oval camper toilets
These bags work. The plastic is heavy. If you only poop in them they can last a week? Pee into a urinal and only poop in the bag. The bags are too small for an oval shaped camper toilet that has no water in it. Place the bag's handles on either side of the toilet, not front to back, and pee into a urinal. This adaptation is more difficult for women. Of course you can pee into the bag; it will just fill up more quickly.

Excellent!
These are perfect for dry-camping. I used them in my Eurovan and didn't have to get out during a thunderstorm to hike to the bathroom. I bought one box 6 months ago, then bought 4 more boxes for the summer. Highly recommend!

Not as good as promoted
I used these bags for camping trailer "dry" camping. I used 3 boxes and each box had one leaky bag. I agree with the comments that the kit is inadequate as a waste disposal system.

Did the job for a multi-day camping trip
We did a 5-day self-supported touring kayak trip in Lake Powell with 10 people and used these kits as our toilet system in conjunction with a Playberg folding toilet seat, a cheap plastic toilet seat lid, and an additional can of the dessicant/enzyme powder (Poo powder.)Each kit is basically a plastic bag with some desiccant/enzyme powder pre-filled in the bottom, a gallon-size Ziploc bag to seal the plastic bag of waste when you're done and a small amount of toilet paper and moist towelette. (Bring extra tp). I wanted to get more than one use out of each kit. I used the plastic bag from this wag bag system over the folding seat and tied a corner--just like setting up a garbage bag in a garbage can--the toilet seat stayed covered with the plastic from the bag. Cheap lid with rock on top for odor. The bag fit over this seat nicely and reached down to the ground so the weight from the waste wasn't dragging the plastic off of the toilet seat. (Important!) Users added extra powder as needed, they were asked not to urinate in system. I changed the bag out about every night. The key was changing the bag before too full or the plastic bag of waste won't fit into one of the ziploc bags. with the Ziploc you still get odor coming out of that thing I certainly wouldn't want to backpack with one for any longer trip. Extra bags good idea... triple bag I had sealed canisters that I put the used Ziploc bags in and even those I kept away from camp because you would catch a whiff occasionally. There is really nothing special about the plastic bag or the ziploc bag--they are not biodegradable or anything. Just landfilled when done. the only real proprietary product is the desiccant/enzyme powder in the bottom. So would be cheaper just to use a sturdy plastic bags and ziplocs (or some other sealing system) and buy the desiccant/enzyme powder separately. However some of the state/national parks are picky about what you're using-- they specifically state no plastic bags in a bucket! That's basically what these things are--but for the key component--the powder. So I guess if they see you have a commercial "wag bag" system they know you have the desiccant/enzyme going. I didn't want to risk not having a kosher system if a ranger stopped by--or having to go through the above explanation.I believe I went through about 6 kits for the whole trip (brought my own to) and not even 1/4 the can of powder.one issue since I had the toilet set up when we were in camp, and since I was kayaking (limited space) I had no bucket or rigid thing to protect the bag, one night an animal had torn into the corner. Small hole. luckily it hadn't breached the bag enough for it to totally blow out or it could have been a major mess to clean up. if pests have been a problem I would have been forced to use more kits and close and seal them up and store in my canisters after each use or maybe at dusk--not leave overnight. the problem is once you close and seal the bag really no way to open it back up again and reuse... At least for my comfort level. Maybe if you are super careful how you packaged it up.But overall worked for us!

Overall very good value and product!
My sister and I used these in a 5 gallon bucket so we wouldn't have to walk up to the facilities in the middle of the night. They are extremely easy to use and the bag is definitely very sturdy. The only thing I wish was different was the depth of the bag and the amount of powder. We ended up needing two scoops per night so we have bags left and no powder. It definitely gelled with one scoop but it was still pretty sloshy. As for the depth, they're a little short and once you stretch them over a 5gal bucket opening, it was even shorter so, it was a little uncomfortable having the puddle a few inches from your hand when wiping!!Overall they were perfect though, saving us several VERY cold treks to the loo in the wee hours!!!Will definitely use again.

Good, but expensive!
I bought these to go along with my Cleanwaste Portable Toilet. The bags and clumping powder are very effective, good quality and you will never have to worry about breakage or leaking. However, they are expensive at about two dollars per bag but the upside is you can keep using the same bag for multiple bathroom visits until the bag is full. This is where the deodorizing clumping powder comes in handy!

Messy
I did not like having to add the blue powder myself. The bags were big enough but the messiness of the powder was not what I was expecting.

Wonderful size and shipping was fast
I'll update you when I have used this product. Wonderful size and shipping was fast. I wanted this on hand for when the power goes out. Don't want to clog the toilets in our house and have it smell bad for days before the power comes back on. Wonderful alternative!

One day
One day the modern day living standards are going to grind to a stand still. Where will you go. Sewage system breakdown. Best of luck with the Typhus that will spread. Tip. Always keep cash handy. ATM machines are run by Win XP. next time they go down, they won't be coming back.
