the filament heats up well, but it breaks down rather quickly, especially if you're using it the way it was intended.

For some reason the two legs of the tips are too close together. To make them fit into the max wax pen you need to bend them apart which then makes it difficult to really push them down into the pen and they end up being crooked! A disappointment.

Low quality replacement tips! The posts are not the correct distance apart, and bend incredibly easily. The resistance isn't correct either, and the temperature is either too high or too low (depending on the tip).

These tips don’t properly fit the max wax pen. The brass tubing that inserts and connects to the battery also pushed the brass coupler of into the body of the pen. The pen got too hot to hold with batteries in, even without the button depressed or the pen activated. It heated up fast, nearly burned my fingers when I put batteries in and set the unit down for a moment for a sip of my tea, then picked it back up. Surprise!Long story short:These nibs broke my max wax pen and made the entire device into a fire hazard. Be sure to remove your pen’s batteries if you’re not actively sitting with your finger on the button. Then throw these nibs out and go spend the little extra cash to order from Rio Grande so you don’t burn your home or shop down. Small price to pay by comparison.
