By reading various books by Maggie, you get to understand the difficulties foster careers face on a daily basis. The complex issues that some fostered children bring with them, needs a special kind of person to help them. Maggie is not trying to prove anything about herself, she is just telling it as it is. However, she sounds like a very special and caring kind of lady who works hard to make the lives of the children in her care, better.

This book was rather sad but so interesting, It taught me a lot and I just wanted to read on and on. I didn’t dislike anything about it except it finished too soon, because now I don’t have it to read anymore. I gave it a five star rating because Maggie writes so well and all her stories are different, believable and thoroughly enjoyable

What an amazing bitter sweet story. How amazing to be able to make such a difference in a child's life. Maggie must be a very selfless, lovely person, it doesn't matter how damaged a child seems to be she always seems to reach them.Well done on your best book yet!

Loved this story, mark,s wife dies and after being in army for so long he has no idea how to just be a dad, so he treats his son as though he were in the army,Maggie has a great way to get the two of them working together again as a family and talking about their loss rather than hiding it.

Another great book by this author social workers get bad press but without them where would these children be people like Maggie Hartley make a difference in a child's life like she did with Tom and his dad 5 STARS.

To be honest when I started to read this book I thought it would be so predictable. How wrong I was!!!I've never ever cried, while reading a book this one had me in floods of tears.

Loved this book . As always it is very well written and makes you think about the world we live in and the many different problems that family have to work there way through
