Good guide for learning. Quality material

Our Birman is as soft and affectionate as she is stunningly beautiful. This book tells you all you need to know about caring for this breed. There are 37 adorable pictures, but the image quality is not great. The only point I would disagree with Kendall about is grooming. Kendall suggests that Birmans are not prone to matting and that weekly brushing will suffice. However, we brush ours every morning and evening (fortunately fun for both parties) and her hair still gets matted. One point that Kendall does not mention is that ours has one really bad habit: Chewing on cords and slippers! On the plus side, she has never scratched the furniture and loves fruits and Cheerios as much as freshly cooked meats. Best of all, on cold winter nights she is like sleeping with a warm teddy bear.

“Great” informative book about Birmans. I am a first time Birman owner, I actually will be able to bring my 2 kittens home in 10 days. I have been able to spend few minutes here and there during few days.So before they arrive home I really want to know everything about the breed, care and personality... and this book has it all that and a lot more very helpful information.I would’ve loved to see color pictures istead of blank/white.

Inevitably the book covers some well-known ground about the Birman breed, but there is much authoritative and useful information here. Most interesting is the detailed description of the breed standard for various color types (i.e., what makes a cat "show quality," what markings are desired and which are considered faults, and so on). Some of the tips on behavior and personality also are helpful.

Truly enjoyed this book! It was very informative about the birman breed. The pictures in the book are fun to see! The author did much research to present an accurate book about the birman cats. This book was easy and enjoyable to read. I am telling all my birman friends about this book! Thanks so much for your contribution to the knowledge of the birman cats!

As a Birman owner of over 30 years and breeder/exhibitor for 23 years I can recommend this book as one of easiest to read, understand and comprehensive guides to the Birman breed of cat. The authors did exhaustive research as evidenced in the acknowledgements (I know a great many of sources personally). It is so informative as well as entertaining. You will love the pictures.

No color photos except the cover. Poor quality book like its just a computer printout. Look for the kindle or hardcover version

Great book! I have had Birmans for several years yet still learned something. I bought this book for my teen daughter, so she will be a better cat mom.
