After The Snow

I loved this album when it came out. It sounds just as good almost 40 years later.One difference though. "Life in the Gladhouse" on the original album is actually the 12" version on this CD. The 2nd song on this CD was not on the original album.

After The Snow is probably one of the very few albums I've listened to regularly since it's release—40 years to be exact. I love its austerity, it's gauze poetry, and the efficiency and economy of the song's spare arrangements. To be honest, when I first heard about this live album project, I wondered what the point of it was or what can be added to the original. I was pleasantly surprised that this live project captures the same identical spirit of the original album. (How did ever do that?) While the performance and fidelity to the original arrangements aren't all that different, but with some tempos slowed and sped up, the songs are given a kind of sonic elasticity which allows the listener to rediscover and explore these old songs further. Even better, these performances leave these songs as crackling, sparkling, and glowing as the original.

I really like the artwork and the Remaster is very good the only thing I’m not crazy about is the packaging!! I really wish they would have been hard cd cases! I also purchased the vinyl and waited to long to listen to it and god I wished I wouldn’t have gotten it the b side has so much surface noise I’m thinking what a crappy record company I mean please I’m a record collector it’s a good thing I snapped it up when it was $13.99 but I’m still pissed about it there’s nothing special about this vinyl except defective 👎
