Fairly Realistic Animatronic Butterfly (Requires computer)
Okay this is pretty neat. It is a great gift for someone who keeps flowers next to their computer at work and anywhere else where the computer may be in use all day.It did arrive with a USB connector as some reviewers mention. This is not just a power connection. With your computer up and running (must be connected initially to the Internet I believe), when you plug this device in a driver will be automatically downloaded and installed. There is actually software that drives the butterfly's wings and simulates realistic motion. There is even some randomness to it. It will not work if you just plug it into a USB charging port (power only) or an A/C adapter providing a USB connection. Motion does stop if the computer shuts down, goes into standby or hibernates. But for an office computer that is up all of the time, this is great. The butterfly wakes up and gets right back to it when your computer gets back up and running. It is relaxing to watch. It catches your eye and even though you know it is fake it is realistic enough that for a moment you get the sense that you have been blessed by the real and delicate creature. My wife loves butterflies. Give it a little motion and it is something special. We have it in our kitchen on a flower in a vase full of flowers (those are fake too most of the time). I ended up finding an older (XP based) netbook that I could stuff in a nearby cabinet out of sight and there you go. We have our own "flutter-by".Yes, the description for the product doesn't describe the USB connection or any of that detail. Even their website talks only about some power supply. The USB product must be a new generation of the thing. It doesn't amount to an inexpensive item if you have to dedicate a computer to it and power that all of the time. But if the computer is there and on, why not? It's a great conversation piece. I'd bet somewhat of a stress reliever too.I can't speak to how long it might last. The design is simple enough. We are happy.

😍
The media could not be loaded. My Christmas tree is now complete! Over the last year, I have been purchasing Dia de Muertos/Mexican/"Coco" themed holiday decor. The only missing piece was a tree topper. The "Elegant Aliform Monarch Moving Butterfly" is the perfect addition! I have loved butterflies since I was a child and I am always amazed by the Monarch migration. In prep for the winter, the Monarch Butterfly travels up to 3000 miles to hibernate in oyamel fir trees in Mexico, where it is warm all year long! The "Elegant Aliform Butterfly" looks beautiful and delicate as it slowly flaps its wings, just like a real butterfly. The item comes with an adapter and can be plugged into an extension cord/wall outlet (2 pole plug, poles are the same size). The butterfly does not make any noise 👍 and is a good size. It definitely stands out! After taking the butterfly out of the box, the wings do need to be adjusted slightly. The seller was helpful and responded to my emails quickly. Might look into ordering another one or two for my christmas wreath and garland. Very happy with my purchase!!! 😍 Highly recommend. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Curiously beautiful.
This is a really cool / beautiful gadget. It illicits all kinds of responses when noticed. Frankly, it looks real to many. My only criticism is it is expensive for what goes into making them. It consists of a simple "wall wart" (power supply), a length of thin wire, a plastic hinging body and printed plastic wings. The movement is produced by a small length of "muscle wire." This system produces gentle and periodic contraction of the wings very much like a butterfly taking a break from flying.I love it.

Attractive and Realistic, but Power Hungry
From a distance, one could easily mistake this for a real Monarch butterfly. It is absolutely silent, and the motion is irregular enough so as not to appear robotic. As you can probably tell from the picture on Amazon, it won't fool anyone who takes a close look, but a non-expert might not be able to tell the difference from 5 feet or more away.It comes with twist ties for affixing it to a lamp or a hanging cable, etc. We have it fixed to a thin baluster on an upstairs landing. It is a high-power USB device. I'm not sure how much current it draws, but I recommend planning to have it plugged in directly to a computer or a self-powered USB hub if you want it to function. There was a note in the package to this effect, but I was a bit disappointed not to see this disclosed in the Amazon product information.

pretty but doesn't work at all.
I bought 2 and neither of them worked. I have bought these before from different companies and I leave them on all the time and have no problem with them. I am in the process of requesting a refund so I'll let I know how that goes. I'm going to give them 1 ☆ because they are pretty and pretty good shipping even though they don't work lol

Very Relaxing
I loved the butterfly. I bought one for me and one for my 7 yr old niece. She loved hers too. I received the product in good time and no with no damage. The movement is very lifelike. A little pricey but unique enough to be worth it. I think a solar powered or small rechargeable one would be great.
