Good replacement thermostat.
Used this in a 7.3 ford F350 when replacing the water pump. The thermostat is working great with the new Gates water pump. This truck hauls horses in the mountains, so it needs to be reliable.

Easy install, high quality part, much better with integrated seals
If you need a thermostat for your 1999-2003 Ford 7.3, this is it. I've been operating with a bad thermostat for three years and decided after a very cold drive it needed to be replaced ASAP. It's easy to replace and doesn't require any extra seals. I would recommend buying a new housing (Motorcraft RH63) in addition to this. Also, if you have an upper radiator hose that goes through the serpentine belt, this will be a good time to replace it with the one that goes around (Motorcraft KM4351).Tools:Channel locksSocket Wrench (8mm and 1/2" I believe...)Putty knifeFlat ScrewdriverDirections:1) Drain roughly a gallon or two of coolant, squeeze the upper hose to tell when its down to where you won't make a mess2) Remove the upper radiator hose3) Unbolt the three bolts around the housing4) Remove the old one, pry it with a screwdriver if necessary5) Scrape crud off the sealing platform making sure it doesn't fall into the coolant6) Put the new one in, put the housing on and torque to 20 ft-lb. No need for RTV, but you can put a little if you want.7) Spray a little (keyword little) wd40 on the housing to make putting the upper hose on possible8) Fill coolant, check for leaks, test drive, check for leaks

Works as intended! Redesigned to include thermostat housing gasket ...
Works as intended! Redesigned to include thermostat housing gasket on both sides of the flange instead of the old style with separate gasket that always leaked. This one does not leak!
