These tubes came in really rough shape and when I opened them the paint exploded into a huge mess. I’m also questioning whether these are genuine Daniel Smith paints. The label on the tubes received doesn’t match other Daniel Smith Primatek paints I purchased directly from a reputable art store. Notice the text color is different compared to the Lapis Lazuli tube in photo. Definitely returning these and going to stick to specialized art retailers.

Such a beautiful color! You can get a great range of shades from this and the paint is super smooth and pigmented.

Daniel Smith watercolors are all I use. And Lunar Violet is a wonderful pigment, creating a richly granulating texture mixed with Quinacridone Burnt Orange (or really any Quinacridone pigment), mixing beautifully on the paper. Great for painting wood.

This is such a rich, deep color, it takes your breath away. The rose pigment floats transparent over the dramatic granulation of the blues. This leaves an incredible result. This two pigment watercolor is medium staining. Daniel Smith watercolors are stunningly beautiful and I love them all!

Good paint, but returned because the color was 'off' from the color shown in listing. This isn't Amazon's or seller's fault - all color charts are somewhat off true color. Daniel Smith makes a color dot card, and if you want to be more accurate in picking out colors to try, get it and swatch out the colors. It's the only way to know if you're seeing the true color of something when you've not used it before.

The actual color is completely different once you order it, because they have the flash on to take the product photo.But the color is actually alot darker and not what I wanted, considering how much it costs.I was pretty disappointed that it wasn't the same color.

I liked the paint effect.

Pompeii Red is a gorgeous color, ranging from the rich burnt-red of a Pompeiian mural to more delicate and subtle shades. Will be great for painting portraits and landscapes. Was very pleased to purchase this color.

Gorgeous ... granulates beautifully and gives interesting results. What is not to like ...

I bought this product to use in my gum bichromate process, it was recommended and well worth paying the little extra for. It gives great tones and a hauntingly beautiful alternative to the black watercolour I use for this process.

What's not to love about Daniel smith paint. Will last for absolutely ages too. Worth the money definitely
