The WE Gear: How Good Teammates Shift from Me to We

This One's a Life-changer
You won't look at other people, litter, a shopping cart, or life the same way after reading former coach Lance Loya's The WE Gear. I can't get over that this entertaining read from first page to last is essentially an inspirational book--it shows how simply shifting from a me to we perspective changes a person's life 180 degrees. The WE Gear is packed with actual accounts that exemplify the actions of people who have discovered the WE gear from Darnell the Mover to children to custodians to sports figures. What makes the book so enjoyable is that it's also funny as in the sections entitled Mama's Night Out and Your Dog or Your Spouse. I also liked the parts about how to deal with teambusters or ME gear people. Bottom line: These humorous and fascinating fact-filled 150 pages pack a life-changing wallop.

Where is the peanut butter?
Coach Loya's The We Gear is a must read for everyone. Being a good teammate is the key to any success and in this book he shows you how to shift out of the ME gear and into the WE gear. The book uses personal experiences to help give the reader a better perspective of what it takes to get into the WE gear. I strongly recommend reading this book to improve how you live your life, love your family, and do you job. I for one will be making more "good teammate moves".

Very relevent subject on being a good teammate
An important subject for all involved in team sports. Not everyone is the #1 performer on a team but this book defines how being a great teammate is more important than being a great individual performer. Long term life lessons may be learned from any individual being a great supporter of the entire team rather than being the superstar. A great read for any parent or child who wants to understand the importance of why being part of a winning team should be the common goal in today's competitive athletic environment.

Inspiring - a must read for leaders to spread the "we" message!
“The We Gear” is one of the best leadership books I’ve read in quite some time - as a Leadership & Learning professional, I read a lot of them. I LOVE the positive message and could really connect with the stories! The book uses some sports analogies, but the message transcends sports. I agree with the book’s point that we can all shift our focus from me to we and learn to be better teammates. I will definitely recommend this to my team!

"The We Gear" shows you that being a Good Teammate is important for more than just sports teams
This was a very easy and fun read that helped me evaluate on how I act as a teammate in life. It gives a positive message about bettering yourself, and those around you, by not being selfish. Everyone contributes in on "teams" throughout life. Work teams, Family teams, various teams of Friends, and yes, even Sports teams. Books like this help leaders stay focused on the importance of working together and and shifting into "The We Gear".

Powerful and inspirational coaching tool on team building
This world would be a much better place if everyone learned to shift into the "WE" gear. The author takes you on a journey using real life examples of how thinking in the "WE" gear instead of the "ME" gear can have profound impacts on us and those around us (our team). This book is a MUST read for employers, teachers, coaches, couples or anyone else looking to strengthen their team. After reading this book I feel A.L.I.V.E.!
