What is the height of the heatsink with fan installed?

38mm from the pcb to the top of the fan.

Is there another way of powering the fan other than the gpio ? i need to use the gpio for another itemized

This is an old question but still think an answer is needed. You can use an external source. A usb hub or something similar. You can also use the Pi's usb port. Wiring the fan to a usb cable should be fairly easy.

Does this fan run continuously or just above a certain CPU temperature ?

It runs continuously, but in all honesty, it's very quiet and not really noticeable...at least to me. It really does a great job at keeping the temp way down on my pi.

Will this fit with room for the camera and display ribbons to connect?

Yes, there is room for both cables. The area above the display connector is completely open. There is a notch in the heatsink mounting bracket to accommodate the camera ribbon cable.
