About Volu-Sol In the 1970’s, a group of chemists began working with the University of Utah to define and create diagnostic stains and reagents for the medical industry. The innovative and quality solutions became so popular that it lead to the formation of a manufacturing company. The company, Volu-Sol, relocated its offices from Henderson, Nevada to Salt Lake City in 1995. Volu-Sol’s history of manufacturing high-quality diagnostic stains and reagents for more than 30 years means that the company is recognized in Hematology, Microbiology, Histology, Cytology and additional areas. In 2013, Volu-Sol became a woman-owned private business. Denatured Ethanol Denatured alcohol is ethanol (ethyl alcohol) made unfit for human consumption by adding one or more chemicals (denaturants) to it. Denaturing refers to removing a property from the alcohol (being able to drink it), not to chemically altering or decomposing it, so denatured alcohol contains ordinary ethyl alcohol. Our SDA (specially denatured alcohol) ethanol is suitable for healthcare, industrial, and cleaning facilities. Hospitals and frontline healthcare workers are using this product in creating Hand Sanitizers, Sanitizing sprays and other cleaning products. Things to know when using ethanol for Sanitization According to the CDC, an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that meets the alcohol volume requirement can quickly reduce the number of microbes on your hands. It can also help destroy a wide range of disease-causing agents or pathogens on your hands. However, even the best alcohol-based hand sanitizers have limitations and don’t eliminate all types of germs.

Can be used as a disinfectant but clearly not for use on skin
Warning label clearly states IF ON SKIN (OR HAIR) Remove/take of immediately all contaminated clothing. Rince skin with water/shower.If your looking to make Hand sanitize don't use this. was told by seller that it was safe to use as hand sanitizer but given the warning label I'm reluctant to use it as such even diluted, Ill use it to clean surfaces computer keyboards mouse track pad and door handles and hard surfaces, it should work well as a disinfectant. I'm only giving this one star not because of quality but because the seller was not honest about the product they should have had at minimum a screen shot of the warning label.

Poor choice of words
This product is very good at cleaning and disinfecting hard surfaces. People should be aware of the fact that denatured alcohol is not ingestible. That said, I must object to their advertising. Stating that this is 200 proof ethanol is completely misleading. Denatured alcohol by its very nature is NOT 100% ethanol. Something has been added to make it inedible. For those thinking of using this to make hand sanitizer - DON'T.

This is meant to be diluted for skin contact
I used aloe vera gel that I made from my own plant at 3 parts alcohol to 1 part aloe and some essential oil. Makes a great spray.

Misleading, do your homework.
I thought I was smart. This is not pure Ethanol.I pulled the SDS from Volusol, far from pure Anything!!!! Ethanol 75-85% Isopropanol 0-10% Methanol 0-5% Water 0-5% Methyl Isobutyl Ketone 0-5%This make me concerned for hand sanitizer.1. it smells, so I am sure they made this stuff with as much additives as possible to keep cost down.2. Doing the ol' college chemistry, 3 parts of this stuff and 1 part water may or may not equal 75% alcohol by volume.Sending it back.EDIT 4/24/20Seller agreed to refund me after I send it back.Sending that much alcohol thru the mail requires some paperwork.Curious if this seller or any seller sending alcohol or sanitizer has the correct paperwork. All the stuff I have receievd is just in a flat rate bag/box, which I know isnt allowed.Flammables can only be ground.Anyway. I contacted seller with my issues on 4/10/2020 about my issues.....no response to this day.

Not pure ethanol.
They changed their label! This was not originally described as denatured. I needed this for disinfectant use. I had some from a different manufacturer purchased a long time ago, but it was "denatured" (rendered undrinkable) with methanol and acetone. This claims to be 100% pure, but then states it is denatured. I would never advise drinking this, btw. If you are think of that, well, the number for AA is.....

Pure Ethanol
Technically yes, it is pure ethanol, but you still do not want to use it with food grade anything or cooking or anything where you might digest it, because it is highly denatured. That's why I said "technically" pure ethanol. I don't know the % of denature stuff they use in it. It smells bad though, not like ethanol. I wouldn't use this for extracting anything, or cleaning up extracted butane products that you intend to consume later.I keep mine in the freezer. Even with the cap on, at room temp it evaporates . In the freezer it don't.

Must be mixed with about 30% water to, be used as hand sanitizer
This is 200 proof that means it is about 100% ethanol. I have read that it does not work well as a hand sanitizer. It should be mixed with about 30% water to be used as a sanitizer. They say water is necessary to open up the viruses so that alcohol can take affect. Check the ingredients of a Purell and other hand sanitizers.
