5" Universal Replacement Sander Pad for Ryobi RS290, RS240, RS280, Ridgid R2600, R2601, Craftsman 315112170, 315116940 ROS Sander - 5 Inch 8 Hole Hook and Loop Sanding Pad

bought this to be used with my sander, but the sander has fitting stubs on the surface that need to seat inside the holes on this, and the holes were non existant. I used a small drill bit and put the old one that I was replacing this one with on top of this one, and used the old one's holes as a guide to drill holes into this one. After that it fit nicely and got my work done.

The pad hole spacing is 1-1/8", but the Ace Steel Grip sander needs 1-1/4" spacing. I could not find pads to fit. I was able to make this one work by slotting the 4 holes a little bit. The manufacturer could/should slot the 4 holes slightly to make this pad more "universal" so it will fit either 1-1/8" or 1-1/4" hole spacing!

Worked perfectly for my chicago electric sander. Just measure the screw holes center to center, and you're good to go!

This has absolutely no velcro on it at all. At first I thought it was great. I put it on tried it out for a few minutes and it worked. Today after 15min of actually using it I found out how wrong I was because that's as long as it lasted. I am no stranger to sanding and my sanders last forever because I let the sander do the work. I do not push down on them I let them sand. I thought what is going on so I pulled out the second one and compared it to another sander that I've had for years and guess what! The new pad had almost nothing on it. The old one felt so much more material then the brand new one and I even have a pad I bought for my wet sander and it's 10 times longer then this practically smooth junk. I am no novice I have been in the trades for decades and I'm telling you this will not last one day of sanding. I'm pissed because amazon return polices are great but damn near impossible for me because the only ups store is a 2hr round trip which means I basically threw money away which is why I have learned away from Amazon lately. Regardless do not buy this trash. The seller should be ashamed of this scam garbage. Yes I'm angry because now I have to stop and go buy a new sander when I planned to finish this project this weekend. It's not like I have a lot of sanding to do but still. Edit, after I wrote this review I seen where Amazon would send me a return slip for a $1 which I was very pleased with except the slip didn't arrive in time for me to get it returned in time. I actually forgot about it until I received the return slip letter from Amazon which I have no idea why it took so long to arrive. I have noticed lately quite a few of my Amazon packages have been arriving later then the 1 to 2 days they're supposed to. Not all but quite a few. Usually it doesn't upset me but one item did because I paid more for the Amazon one to get it before the weekend and then it took longer then the cheaper one would had arrived but that's another story. I get a lot of Amazon items that go straight to the garbage because of the return issue but I'm going to start making it a piont to make the treacherous trip partly because of the new commercials in my prime lol. With all my gripping I will still use Amazon and I honestly still like them for the most part.

Fit my 5 inch orbital sander and holds the sand paper perfectly!

I purchased this pad for my Ryobi RS240 sander. Although it is the correct size and the holes aligned, the old pad had an additional 4 holes in the back of the pad which fit into 4 pins on the base of the sander (where the pad gets screwed into). I had to line up the old and new pad (with the old pad on top) to drill through the old pin holes to make sure the pin holes in the new pad were able to line up with the pins on the base of the sander.

My sander's original pad was badly worn out; enough of the velcro-style hooks had broken off that my sandpaper sheets would not stay on the sander for more than a couple minutes, if at all. After installing this replacement on my sander, I am thrilled that my sander works like new again! Next time, I will not wait to so long replace!
