The Bill James Handbook 2020

Pretty much the usual, with James now riding into the sunset and others taking over direction of the book. While it eschews WAR for James' Win Shares to rate players (which doesn't bother me that much, since the two systems generally come up with reasonably similar evaluations), this book provides valuable stats all players and also ratings of players' fielding prowess. It also provides estimates of a player's performance in 2020, valuable summaries of what pitches a pitcher throws and how often, and evaluations of how hitters fare in each ML park. Since I am old, I like having a paper copy, rather cruising around the internet. I wear a copy of this book out each year.

I just want to rate the product, not write a review.

If you like baseball, stats, and analytical baseball articles this book is for you. It is great for the run of the mill baseball fan to find out stats regarding players of interest and, also, outstanding for those fans who want to dive deeper into baseball stats. I have bought it every year for decades. It is a main stay in any baseball fan's library.

As expected the book is chock full of numbers that may provide some insight into, among other things, the Houston Astros ongoing cheating that is helping to undermine the American pastime...

For well over a decade, I have purchased Bill James to get ready for our fantasy draft. The book has gotten thicker over the years, but frankly can't complete with the online sites that provide significantly more detail and analytics.Last time purchase for me. Bill James needs to get with the program and develop a website.
