LudwigP40662 Complete Internal Tone Control System

Works great and way better than moon gel or external dampeners because it's versatile and quickly adjustable. Yes, the pad is thinner than the older tone controls used in Ludwig drums; however, the internal metal bracket is easily bent to raise the pad closer to the head.

This is the internal "muffler" Ludwig has used for decades. It installed easily and works well, allowing the user to "dial in" more or less dampenng of drum overrtone as desired.

These were used to replace missing controls on a 1974 set. I had to open 1 hole in the drum for the adjustment screw but otherwise fit great.

Quality materials and works like a charm. The last touches to a LM402 restoration. Very pleased.

this will not work on all brand vintage drums.all the big drum companies had their own version.this is fantastic almost the saime demension and all.only difference is the nylon washers instead of steel on origional.anyone who collects ,buys ,trades ludwig drums im shure has gotten one or more with the muffler missing this is the saime fit and saime model.if you8 go to ebay they all want a small fortune this is the smart choice.

I was so pleased to get this part for my new snare drum. Drum mufflers have not been used in the manufacture of drums for some time now and the only way you can compensate for overtones now a days is to apply tape or sticky jels to drum skin surface. I did an online search and a music store in Bentonville Arkansas had just what I was looking for. The original Ludwig drum muffle. I am very pleased with my purchase thanks to the folks at Arkansas Musicworks.

Ludwig started using this screw style damper about 1968 & into the 70's. Prior to 68 it was a rotating bat. I own a 1969 Super Classic shells and misplaced the dampers (found later). My original damper looks like this one on the outside but it is reversed on the inside. If your kit is from the 60's this will not work on the toms. The rotating dampening screw should be on top and the stationary screw on bottom. Maybe this damper fits Ludwig models without reinforcing hoops or maybe for snares. If someone wanted to get creative you can probably bend & file this to work. Then drill out the stationary hole to accommodate the damper screw & get a larger stationary screw. I don't care to do this. I will add that the quality appears good.

Mucho cuidado si estás pensando usar esta parte para restaurar una tarola vintage. Es necesario observar si el hoyo grande (de la perilla de ajuste) se encuentra abajo o arriba en tu tarola. Si se encuentra abajo (normalmente en las tarolas de los 80 y después) no tendrás problemas. Si se encuentra arriba, entonces la perilla queda angulada y forzada y no funciona como debería. En pocas palabras, la parte es exactamente igual en las tarolas vintage a excepción de la posición de la perilla. La otra cosa decepcionante es que la primera que ordené, venía ya con puntos de corrosión / oxido en la perilla a pesar de venir en su bolsa de fábrica. La tuve que devolver. No sé si fue un problema de control de calidad de Ludwig o si era una parte que había pasado demasiado tiempo en los almacenes de Amazon en condiciones no ideales. La segunda parte que ordené estaba sin óxido.
