Great for a hiking daypack
Perfect for hanging off our backpack. It's too small to read exact temps, but we understood that prior to ordering - we're not interested in an exact temperature, just a general idea.

such a handy thing
Had one of these forever and a day ago on my favorite jacket, such a handy camp gadget. The Acrylic face shield can take a beating, but the back panel with the wind chill chart is just a snap in panel.Still it's a great zipper pull on basically any cold weather gear. And I wish I had picked this up a couple years ago when it was 100+°F every day for three months.Heat sneaks up on you just as bad as cold.

For a tiny, inexpensive thermometer, it's decent. Mine are quite accurate.
I bought two of these for kayaking and backpacking. I immediately checked their readings against a NIST calibrated laboratory thermometer and they were both off by less than 1 degree Fahrenheit. Part of that inaccuracy is probably due to the difficulty in reading a unit so small, but they will suit my outdoor needs just fine. Some things to consider: Some reviewers who have attached this to the zipper pull of their jackets and gone out in cold weather have complained of high readings. This is to be expected since your body gives off heat right through your jacket. Also, sun will warm the surface of your jacket significantly. You need to get it away from anything that might be warmer than the air. Also, since it is encased in plastic, it will not respond instantly to changes in temperature. Give it a minute or more to equilibrate.

Not very accurate
Not very accurate. Compared readings to several other thermometers I have and it was sometimes close but seems to read high by a few degrees.

Inaccurate
I received a dud, easily 10 degrees off.

Mini Thermometer a must for outdoorsmen.
Outdoors survival especially in colder climates, requires more focus on changing temperatures.Always have a mini thermometer close at hand!

Temperature display on your jacket pull
We use these on our coats in the winter to check on how cold it is and on vacation to check how hot it is. Just clip it to your coat, bag, or backpack and you can monitor the safety of your environment. Bought this one to use on a trip to Egypt and am looking forward to checking out the desert temps.

Handy
This little gem is an handy way to monitor the rising temperature as I work out doors.I supposed you could also monitor falling temps but that isn't a worry, since falling temps don't trigger heat stroke or heat exhaustion. ;)DOUG out
