Good read.
This is the first book I've read about meditation. I didn't know there was so many variations. I probably should have started with Meditation for Dummies.

Not what I expected
I'm not done yet, and may change my review once I am, but it seems very "new-age" touchy-feely to me. For example, they explain motivations to develop greater concentration and they state that "concentration gives rise to a dazzling array of extraordinary human capacities including clairvoyance, telepathy and mind-travel." Not my taste.

I am trying to learn to meditate, it's very hard for me, I have ADHD and my mind is going 900 mph at all times But I am learning.

Great introduction to meditation
As a newbie to meditation I want to learn more about meditation including the highs and lows. This book was perfect!

Excellent! Get this above all else!
Excellent! Joel and Michelle Levey were some of my first meditation teachers over 20 years ago. And this is their best work yet. A complete manual and distillation of Mindfulness, Meditation and Mind Fitness practices. The best I've seen!

Beautifully written
I have read many a book on meditation techniques. This one, however, is so well written and eloquent. I could not put it down. It offers wonderful tips on meditation practices with profound statements weaved into the text. Nice book!

Much wisdom to be found here.
There is some great practical everyday wisdom to be found here IMHO. The Levey's are special compassionate people sharing what they have learned. Don't appear to have any agenda. Just trying to help in a world that needs plenty of help. All of their books are good.
