Q: Would this be passable as a real grass surface for a small 1/35 scale diorama?

It works on 1/72 scale it would probably work on 1/35 scale if you add static grass to the surface.

Q: How do you attach model trees with no base to a mat like this? Thanks

I would guess the trees will be on a base board so a small hole through it, a similar small hole in the base of the tree and a fine screw to fix the tree in place. Or a good epoxy resin glue. Hope that makes sense, Tony A

Q: Would it mould over curves and round edges without sharp creasing?

I think it probably would, although I only use it on flat surfaces.
