NO SPOILERS. HAVING NOT SEEN THIS SPECTACULAR MASTERPIECE FOR YEARS IT WAS AN AUSPICIOUS OCCASION TO VIEW IT IN BLAZING HD COLOR. THE PICTURE FEATURES THREE OF THE FINEST PROTAGONISTS ACTING. LEELEE SOBRESKI CARRIES THE ENTIRE FILM, FOLLOWED BY THE MASTER ACTOR STELLAN SKARSGARD, AND DIANE LANE. AS A YOUNGER BOY AND HIS SIXTEEN YEAR OLD SISTER FIND THAT THEIR PARENTS ARE KILLED IN A FATAL CAR ACCIDENT, THEY ARE SENT TO LIVE IN MALIBU IN AN ENORMOUS MANSION AND ATTEND THE LOCAL 🏫 SCHOOL. BUT THE GUARDIAN IS IN SERIOUS FINANCIAL TROUBLE WITH THE MOB. THIS MAKES FOR A VARIETY OF MOTIVATIONS TO INHERIT THEIR HUGE TRUST FUND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. YOU WILL VIEW THE ENDLESS TWISTS AND TURNS, UNTIL THE FINAL DENOUEMENT, I.E. UNRAVELING. THIS HAS AN ENORMOUSLY INTERESTING ENDING AND WILL LEAVE YOU IN A BREATHTAKING STATE. GET OUT THE 🍿 AND 🍕 AND ENJOY THIS THRILLER.

I enjoyed the movie. My purpose was to see it before seeing a lecture soon by the author who grew up locally. The movie was a little disappointing in its extremely negative perspective on our area although the actors did a great job.

This was one of those movies I always wondered what it was about. Have to admit, it was a lot better than I was expecting. Tried to figure out why Stellan Skarskgard, Diane Lane, and Bruce Dern were in this, and finally realized, it's a pretty good story, and the characters they played were somewhat different than what I've already seen them in. They had very interesting characters. The main character is the teen daughter, Ruby, played very well by Leelee Sobieski. I have to admit, this was more psychological thriller, and less teen drama, than I was expecting, and better for it. I give it 7.2 out 10 stars. Great movie!
