My brother built my gate frames and I added the wood composite and clavos. The clavos gave the gates such a nice finishing touch. I just marked and drilled pilot holes and then gently tapped them in with a rubber mallet. The company is also great to deal with. The heads are thick and nice and heavy. Some of the clavos heads arrived detached from the nails and the company sent me replacements no problem. I will always check with this company first for my hardware needs.

They look great! The 1.5 inch size makes a big difference over the more common 1 inch size...definitely worth the little extra cost. ADVICE: always get 3-5 extra clavos than what you need. I got the exact amount and on two of my 48, the head and nail separated when hit with the hammer at an off angle (a hot glue gun solved it). Very satisfied and highly recommend though, especially since they were $2-$2.50 each locally.

Using them for our pantry door and they are the perfect size! I was worried about installing them, so I drilled small starter holes and used a cloth over them when hammering then in. They went in super easy! I may not have need the predrilling but I was happy I did, just to be sure. They make the pantry door look perfect!
