Personalized American Oak Spirit Aging Barrel (300) - Custom Engraved Barrel From Skeeter's Reserve Outlaw Gear - MADE BY American Oak Barrel - (Natural Oak, Black Hoops, 2 Liter)

This is my 4th spirit barrel from American Oak (via Amazon). After my first one (with which I was well pleased) I decided to buy more for different types o' spirits; I thought I'd try different companies for comparison. But after my next purchase, the contrast between these very well made, solid and beautiful barrels and the other company made me decide to stick with Amer. Oak. then onward. [My last order there was the slightest error in engraving- I wasn't sure what to make of it b/c it was such a small thing- Amer. Oak Barrel responded soon saying they would replace it- very nice of them].Years ago I had a 1 acre vineyard and had Hungarian Oak barrels (in various gallon sizes) so I knew what I was looking for in a barrel. I was however surprised at how pretty these little things were, the charred American white oak taste ages the spirits very well. [BTW, I chopped up one of my 6 gallon Hungarian wine barrels, rebaked the staves, charred the pieces, and now sometimes put the spirits in a large jar with pieces of this and other oaks to add complexity before or after I age it in these little barrels]PS, the barrel on the bottom left in the pic was the 2nd one I purchased which was not from Amer. Oak Barrel- if you saw it up close you would know it is comparatively primitive and not of the same quality (nor is the stand), which is why I now stick to this brand...

This was such a great barrel, I bought my brother one for Christmas. We are both very happy with them. I've aged 2 bottles of bourbon now and was so pleased with the results. Here's the story; I drank a wonderful bottle of Bookers. When I was dangerously close to the bottom, I located a store that had 2 bottles available. I bought 2 (not cheap stuff), peeled it open and died inside. It smelled and tasted like rubbing alcohol. The new batch was not even close to the previous, put a smile on my face with every single sip deliciousness! Blah blah blah, needed more barrel time. 20 days was perfect, thank you! P.s forgot to say, it looks beautiful too!!!

Let's make this short and concise. I am severely disappointed with this purchase. I followed the "setup" instructions precisely and was never able to get this mini barrel to seal beyond and initial few days. Wasted some good bourbon in the process. Now, this just sits on my kitchen counter next to the wine rack. Yes, this thing looks nice but is completely non functioning. Was never able to get anything aged. Sad. Zero quality control goes into these things.

Bought this for my dad for Christmas. He is an avid bourbon drinker, and honestly a bit of a snob about it. I’m not sure about the flavor as he hasn’t used it yet. It was charred on the inside. It is a beautiful piece, and he lived it. The 2 liter is a bit small. I would have ordered larger had a realized

Very nice product! I put some cheap Scotch in it for 3 weeks. Definitely improved the flavor!

The media could not be loaded. I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband in 2022. Since Christmas he has been pouring little by little of expensive bourbon to age it himself as this is what the barrel is made for. However, the barrel is now leaking from the ribs and all of that good bourbon has gone to waste. I would not recommend using this to age any liquor maybe just using it for decor. Super sad this didn’t work out for him and it hasn’t even been a year since purchased. :(
