I have 5 sets of these - both the bullet design and the bell housing. None of them are in protected locations, they are fully exposed to the elements. I live in Pittsburgh and have had zero problems with them in the below zero temperatures with snow and ice, driving rainstorms or the constant slow drizzle/rain that it does here in the winter for up to a few days straight.There does not seem to be any performance difference that I can tell other than appearance in the housing design between the bullet and the bell.One of the reviews said the manual said not to mount them over 20', I think that was a concern of mine as well when I initially bought them. I have 2 mounted about 30' up and the motion detector works perfectly picking up even slight motion a good 60' out no problem. Maybe further, I'm just guessing since they are 30' up and it is a trajectory. The line of site is also unobstructed.I bought these and installed LED's in them because I was willing to pay extra so as not to have to fool with them again down the road.Their construction is solid, the housing is aluminum (I think), they are a bronze color and show no signs of wear whatsoever.I bought them on Amazon and they ranged in price from the mind 190's - $220 and they sold them in pairs. Now you can buy them individually for less than $95.They are really, really good lights and worth the extra money, I just bought my 6th unit and thought I would write a review.

I had an electrician install two of these fixtures after suffering through multiple installations of cheaper, Home-Depot-grade products that typically failed within months. One of the fixtures sits on the side of my house that suffers the exposure to extremely adverse weather conditions (i.e. abundant, almost-horizontally-driving rain multiple times a year). This product has lasted, without any noticeable diminution in performance, for 3 years and counting. The sensor is extremely powerful, the lights extremely durable. More expensive than garbage...and performs accordingly.

Ordered two of these to replace fifteen year old motion sensor fixtures on the back of my house, one of which, finally failed. Installed them myself. They are working great. Good quality fixture. Would purchase again!

I have several of the products installed currently. They work flawlessly. Missing the 2nd light in the 2-pack and having to return the one for a refund left me without lights to install. Only warm day in the forecast so no fix in the future for the current broken light. I would have taken a 50% discount to keep the one and install it, but that was not possible according to support. Bottom line the light itself is great, just don't buy from this seller.

These are terrific security lights. The motion- and ambient light-sensing capabilities have been refined in this current generation and work flawlessly. The controls are flexible and easy to understand. They have several modes accessible via whatever light switch controls them. This means you can set them for (a) motion operation only, or (b) 'evening mode' to come on for a user-defined period after dark and then go into motion mode, or (c) stay-on-all-night-long mode -- and you do this by flipping the wallswitch in different ways. We use these for both security in the middle of the night, and also just as area lighting during evening hours (parties etc.). The materials and construction are robust and professional. My only complaint is that they are not designed to handle other than incandescent or halogen lamps; with LEDs replacing most lights I'm concerned I won't be able to get bulbs eventually. Some other reviewers have indicated that some newer LEDs actually function well in these fixtures - at some point I'll try a modern LED and see if it works (the manufacturer's current position is that you can't use LED or CFL).

I think straight from the manufacturer.The build quality and hardware appear to be top-notch, commercial grade or better. Nothing appears to be cheaply made here.So far, I’m happy that I purchased these.

This is by far the best motion detecting light I have EVER owned. I have been using them for over 30 years. RAB builds quality products that hold up over time. The sensor is spot on for detection and the 360 degree sensor under the unit eliminates any "blind spot". With the LED floods that I installed, I won't have to touch these for years. Highly recommended.
