The Book of Assistance

Arguable my favorite book on perfecting inner character. I have purchased this book numerous times just to hand out to people that I thought may benefit from it. The wisdom is profound and the eloquent translation by the editor takes nothing away from the original text written by Imam al Haddad centuries ago. The fact that this book is still in circulation and translated in numerous languages is proof that there is immense blessing in Imam al Haddads work.

This book is perfect for a solid read on spirituality and doctrine in the Islamic Tradition. It is short (roughly 120 pages,) broken up into 32 chapter, so the topics are powerful but made easy to read. Topics range from certainty, cleanliness, prayer, love of God and contentment. I took a class with a teacher with this book as the focus and it was superb- informative and inspiring. Enjoy!

The Book of Assistance is a must read! If you want to truly get closer to GOD in an intimate way this book will help you. There are so many obstacles that hinder us from entering the Throne of GOD. To be worthy we must be clean spiritually. How do we do that? By removing the impediments that cause us to remain stagnant and foul. We humans tend to have an over- inflated opinion of ourselves especially when doing a self-evaluation. Now what do you think your grade would be at this very moment if the Lord of the Universe was scoring you? Again, this is a must read. The Book of Assistance will change your view of the heart and how to truly love GOD which means pleasing Him and showing gratitude in everything that we say and do. You'll want to share with others after you read it.

Amazing book. Concise, thorough, comprehensive and easy to read. Imam Al Haddad provides practical guidance rooted in the Qur'an and Sunnah. Every household should carry this book in its library.

I loved this book so much! It has everything a Muslim needs to know whether you are a sufi or not. It is also a great read for non-muslims who are interested in learning more about Muslims and Islam. What a beautifully written book.

I heard this book as part of a Seekersguidance lesson and absolutely loved it! It is a kind of practical guide on the way to Allah, His love and His guidance, like a detailed guidebook that smoothes the way out of the darkness and out of disorientation for a lost person. Within relatively short chapters, it offers an extensive treasure trove of wisdom and advice that - despite its conciseness - is incredibly profound and comprehensive. If you want to read a book that you really want to get practical use from, the words of which touch your heart immediately and lead you straight to the path of Allah, you cannot avoid this one. ♡ I fell in love with this book and it is one of the best I have ever read and that every Muslim should read!

Words are not enough to describe what this Imam has done for people living in the 21st century... this is Ghazali's volume work in a nutshell...if you know Ghazali..you know he is a man full of wise advice, and believe you me, no one in todays time will get through his work in less than a month..therefore the next best thing is this succint work done by Imam al hadadd...we owe it to him for what he has done for us. I cant emphasis enough about this book..its one of those books you will cnostantly refer back to over and over again!

A must have in every Muslim household.

This book is rich with wisdom. The chapters are short but very heavy with information and wise knowledge articulated beautifully. Get this book if you're looking for inspiration. If you're a little bit or a lot lost about your Deen and your love for Allah, get this book and read it slowly with an open heart. It will benefit you greatly.
