How a House Is Built (New & Updated) [Gibbons, Gail] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. How a House Is Built (New & Updated) Review: Another winning Gail Gibbons book! - I got this book when my toddler started asking questions about houses. This book has really well done illustrations that show what goes in to each part of a houses construction. There’s labels, and lots of great vocabulary too! It even shows a few different types of houses and materials that can be used. I think this is one she will be able to enjoy and learn from for years. Review: Excellent book for kids interested in how houses are built! - I bought this for my grandson two years ago and he loved it. He's now 7-1/2 years old and still loves it! In fact, we read it again a few hours ago. It provides the step-by-step information about building a house with the right amount of detail and explanation to get young builders busy with cardboard boxes, blocks, Playmobil, Duplos, stuff in the garage, and whatever else they need to make a form, pour a foundation, install plumbing, put up drywall -- you name it! I haven't found another book like this and I'm so glad we found this one. Highly recommended for kids who are interested in just how, exactly, a house is built. Now we know!

Great book for sparking curiosity in kids on how homes are built.
I studied architecture, worked as an engineering drafter and have done some construction. My 3 yr old daughter is very inquisitive and loves learning how things work and come together. This was a great easy to understand resource on how homes are built for children. It was accurate and explained on a level my child could understand. Highly recommend for children like her.

more detail thn expected!
This book had more detail then expected. it even mentioned when the wires and plumbing goes in. I think this is a perfect intro for K-2nd graders on how a house is built because it explains it accurately without too much detail. We use this book when doing a social science unit on construction. I shorten the number of words to make the reading go faster when reading aloud to the Kindergartners.

A Great Start to the Building Process!
This is a great book! On the way to school, we've been driving past a construction site for a new housing plan. I knew some of the process and truck names, but I was unsure myself, so I bought this to help my child understand the process. I took it to her school and now it's a class favorite! They try to identify what stage of the process each of the new houses are in, and we're hoping to take a little field trip once the model is open to the public. The book keeps things very general, not a ton of words, but the visuals help. Highly recommend!

A must for all homes of tradesmen
I bought this book twice....my husband is a carpenter and I got it for him to read to our boys. He actually commented on how thorough and accurate the book is and touched on how every different professional plays a role in the construction of a home. So for him to be impressed says a lot. After that I knew it would make a great gift for my brother to read to his little boy as a Christmas gift. That night my sister in law text me that her brothers were over (all tradesmen as well) and had commented on how great the book was in talking about how every professional has their role. Architects, plumbers, electricians and the list goes on. Very cute but educational book and a must in all households with tradesmen.

Takes you through from the architect stage to building the foundations etc for a house. Will hopefully answer lots of questions that my 8yr old son has! Arrived VERY quickly too. Thanks.

This book is aptly titled. If you have a curious preschooler or young child interested in how things are built, this is a good book on house building.

Este libro es una monada. Para los padres que busquen un libro que explique como se construye una casa es perfecto. Se pone al nivel del niño (mi hija tiene 3 años y medio) Es un complemento perfecto para que no todos los libros sean de ficción.
