I have used this car top carrier for a handful of trips since purchasing it, most recently in July of 2021. It has lived up to and exceeded expectations each time it was used.Installation is very simple when following the instructions. Tightening of the straps was a little tricky, but was eventually accomplished. I also add a ratchet strap over top as an additional safety measure, but don't think it is necessary. The ratchet strap actually got us a little wet on the last trip, since it compromised the gasket on the door and allowed a small drip of water to come in. This only occurred after leaving the carrier installed overnight while at a hotel and it continuously raining. Some water did make its way inside the carrier, but nothing of concern and this is the only time I've seen water make its way in when using this carrier. On the return trip we ran into more rain and did not have this issue.For the most recent trip I used this, I was able to fit a set of golf clubs, 2 large duffle bags, tackle box, fishing pole, football, beach blankets, and some other items neatly tucked into available space. It took me all of about 30 minutes from putting it on top of the car to having it zipped up and ready to go.I make sure to secure all the loose pieces of the straps and have noticed there is no additional noise during our ride with this installed. Additionally, I have not noticed any change in the way the vehicle handles/rides with this installed. As I was making the trip I made a note to come back and leave a review as this thing has been great for our road trips and increasing cargo.This is a solid solution for those looking for additional cargo space and don't have any mounting hardware installed on the top of their vehicle for car top carriers.

We bought two. They keep the rain out and have plenty of room. Easy to pack. Stay in place. Have been using since 2021.

I'm surprised it was as well made as it was being one of the cheapest rooftop bags. And it was larger than expected (yet not too large for my roof; 13 Chevy Cruze). The included loops for attaching to the car door frame worked very well. I will say though, if you are traveling and remove the bad while you're at your destination, I recommend removing the loops as well. They tend to get fall into the door when you close the them and this does allow a few droplets of water to enter the car during heavy rain. It only adds like 60 seconds to remove/install so I don't count against this. There was NO leaking when the loops were properly attached and secured with the bag in place.One "downside" is the strap adjustment on the bag. They are about as basic as it comes but cinching them tight when buckled seemed impossible. We had to adjust the length unbuckled first, then buckle it when adjusted to a legth that would be tight enough. This worked just fine, and it survived two 3.5 hour trips, but it does add some time to packing. Still worth it to fiddle with the straps than to pay 2x more for something used so seldom.

Bought this for a long road trip across the country. It has over 8,300 miles on it and is still in great shape! Water proof, easy enough to install. Holds A LOT.Some of the Velcro straps to seal it over the zipper need to be reapplied with some good glue but with the use it received and the weather it went through I am still very happy with this! The zipper is heavy duty and does great, everything stayed dry and secure. Would definitely get another one when this one is done, many more miles from now I’d say.

If you will never drive through rain then this is the product for you. However, if there is chance it might rain, stay clear...or wrap your bags in plastic before putting them in this. We drove 1200 miles, no rain, this thing worked perfect. On the way back, lots of rain for 90 minutes and our stuff was soaked...through the bag, through the suitcase onto our clothes. Fortunately we had nothing electronic in the bag, or else it would have been destroyed. The zippers were zipped, the flaps were closed, there are no holes in the bag, yet our stuff was soaked...go figure. Overall, okay bag if you're transporting SCUBA gear I suppose.

This carrier holds so much stuff. It was a little awkward to work with until we filled the corners, then it became easier. I drove over 1400 miles through drizzle and driving rain and nothing got wet. My only complaint is on my SUV I can't move the front and back roof rack bars. I securely strapped the side and front straps but the back straps were not long enough. I ended up strapping them to the side as well. The carrier did not move but I would have had more piece of mind if I could have secured the back. I needed another 12 inches on the straps to make it work. I would still recommend this carrier for the quality and value if you only need it once in a while. If you are an avid traveler this may not hold up although I saw no issues with it.

How do you get 2 people and 2 cats, plus enough clothes to wear to work between your arrival and the arrival of your moving truck, when you drive a Hyandai Elantra? You get this. We drove from FL to CO, we went through 9 states. It rained in FL the whole time. I did put the suitcases in garbage bags to give extra protection from water. When I opened the bag after 6 hours of rain, there was maybe a cup of water in the bag- but come in- it poured for 6 hours and we were driving highway speed. The bags were not wet because I did what was recommended. It was easy to install too, since we removed the carrier every night at the hotel. It really made the trip so much more comfortable.

This was extremely difficult to install on my small SUV. However, while installing it I got a weird rash on all the skin that touched it that stung. Please be careful when handling this product.
