Great reference book for practitioners
I have enjoyed reading this book... It is a great reference book to have on your shelf if you are going to be a threapist or if you are going to practice in mental health directly with clients. I have found it to be relatively easy reading and to be very realistic to the problems presented to most modern therapists. I will be keeping this book to use during my internship and practice. I would advise any potential advanced dergree seeking person in this field to purchase it. There are many situations presented in the book that one may find themselves caught in with a client. This book gives a very clear and thought out way to deal with such issues. It is very well written...

Good Book
This was required reading for a required class. I was not too excited about it, but I have actually enjoyed reading this book. The author provides case examples that really make you think. Also, there are personal inventories that you complete before each chapter. After reading the chapter, you can go back and see if any of your opinions have changed. The questions are quite thought provoking and have led to some good class discussions.

Well organized with a helpful format to understand ethics.
As a graduate student, I find this book very helpful to understand my responsibilities. This book is well organized. The authors present the material in a way that shows the complexity of the issues and ethics. They give helpful steps that can be taken in the process of caring for one's client and also protecting the therapist. The authors bring in several resources to consider different perspectives. They bring in court cases and how the cases affect the ethical issues. They also supply different ways that counselors may have handled cases and give their opinions about how well these solutions reflected ethical decisions.

A Good Understandable Textbook for Psychologists/Social Workers etc.
This textbook is a good and understandable text for graduate students in social work, psychology, or other helping professions. Throughout the text it gives examples such as case studies and describes what was unethical or ethical in dealing with the issues. Very good companion to C.B. Fisher's Decoding the Ethics Code. The two texts together are used in an online master's program in the area of general psychology to discuss issues and ethical problems. Thumbs up on this one.

Claims of Copyright Restrictions for unavailable text - Really???
NOT HAPPY! Second problem with the same publisher. Guess I didn't learn the first time. Won't buy another kindle version of a required text for school from this publisher! The kindle version contains 19 entries of "Text or Image not available due to copyright restrictions". However, all but one of these entries is publicly available on the internet! The other I believe is an error by the publisher (pp. 18-19 of text version)In order:National Association of Social Workers (NASW) website-purpose section (first 2 entries)Publisher Error-Commentary on example about client "Kevin"National Association of Social Workers (NASW) website-principles section-4.05.b-1.05.bCommission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC)- Code of Ethics Document-A.2. The content was great and if you're a student that reads every page of the book I'm sure you will get a lot out of it. I am not one of those students so I can say with certainty that if you don't read the book and need to find specific information say during an open book timed exam you're going to have a hard day. Not a great resource at the end for finding specific things.

Great read
I fully enjoyed this textbook. Easy reading, great examples, not repetitive. I'm glad I purchased it used because there was so much info in here I highlighted too much, and now I don't feel like I need to sell it back. My entire class seems to be enjoying to textbook. Another student said they've had other textbooks by this author and liked them as well.
