Does anyone know if this will be ok with the brother hl-l3230cdw or is it too thick for it? ive found mixed opinions and some say 160gsm max

The manual for your Brother printer specifies paper weight between 60 - 163 g/m2. Strangely, that's exactly the same for my HP printer and I have no issues printing on this 200 g/m2 paper. Its your call but this paper works fine in my HP. If you do use this paper, I recommend you change the paper settings in your printer preferences to a heavier paper as thicker paper needs more heat to fix the toner.

Would this be suitable for printing replacement J-cards for cassette tapes from scans using a laser printer? Unsure if 130gsm or 200gsm would be best.

I used 200g for A5+ sized wedding photograghs of my Brothers wedding this summer. I think heavier paper might make my HP200/1415fmw units struggle. Get some test card from you local paper supplier and test it, try A5 as close to size of you inserts. Laser printing probably better than inkjets.
