Climber's Guide to Glacier National Park (Regional Rock Climbing Series)

Very Thorough
I’ve lived outside of glacier for a few years. I was looking for a good book to read about some of the lesser known hikes, and a friend recommended this book. I’ve enjoyed all the hikes that I’ve learned about through this book, and I’ve got a lot more on my list to cross off.

fine for what it does
This is a classic old climbing guide, fine for what it does, which is not giving much detail. Many prominent summits are not covered at all. This pales in comparison with the Passmore climbing guide series.

I own both Climber's Guide books, by J. G. Edwards. I used his "Bibles", when I was climbing at Glacier in 1971. I worked at GPL in 1970- 71. I attended the Many Glacier Hotel Reunion 7/30 - 8/03. I am obsessed with Glacier Park & exploring the trails. I am a member of Glacier Park Foundation & met John Hagen last summer.

Not a topo.
If you’re expecting a topo / list of graded sport climbs, this isn't it. This is “climbing” in a general sense, and talks about the peaks of Glacier, as well as geology and local facts. Get it as a general guide to hiking, but not as a topo.

Helpful
Some good information and routes for navigating Glacier. Anyone that enjoys the mountains owes in to themselves to visit Glacier at least once.

Good book
Good book for researching the trails in Glacier National Park. I expected more photos though. This is a good book to read.

WARNING: NOT A 'ROCK' CLIMBING GUIDE
This is not an actual review of the book. Thought this was a rock climbing guide. It's not haha =D
