The AC250WBS is a water cooled sharpening system which can create razor sharp edges to many common items. A five piece jig kit is supplied with the machine and includes jigs suitable for sharpening square edge chisels and planes, short knives, long knives, scissors and axes. The top rail is reversible and adjustable in height and can take many of the other jigs which are available for wood chisels, turning tools etc. The 180W motor minimises stalling during sharpening and is switchable in rotation. The wet stone is 220g and runs at 95rpm. The trough is generously sized to prevent water from running from long tools onto the bench. On the other side is a leather honing wheel, used for final honing and polishing to a mirror finish. The five piece jig kit, supplied with the machine includes the following jigs: square edge chisels and planes, short knife, long knife, scissor and axe. This is a valuable machine for any home workshop, expandable with the optional jigs to be able to keep a keen edge on many tools. Please note: The AC250WBS will not accept Tormek Universal Supports or the Tormek SVH-320 Planer Knife Jig.

Really great for tool sharpening
Great product, I’ve sharpened my chisels and planes with ease. It takes a bit of getting used to use but that’s no problem. Water does get everywhere if you’re not careful so if that’s an issue just stand it in a large tray👍

Does the job it supposed to.
I am pleased with my purchase the grinder works well, I feel it certainly not necessary to pay for more expensive models. However I would have give 5 stars but for a couple of weak points, the first is that when sharpening wood turning tools a lot of water goes outside the tray all over the bench and floor which besides getting everything wet it empties the reservoir very quickly so have to keep filling it, you will note from my pictures that I have made some additional plastic shields that clip on the tray they have helped a lot, perhaps they could be made available by the manufacturers, the second weak point is the rest/tool jig holder this is poorly made and does not adjust very easily.

A lot of sharpening stone for the price
For the price this is an excellent machine. It is well built and being able to change the direction of the rotation with a switch is a nice touch.I marked it down to four stars for two reasons, firstly the stone was a bit unbalanced straight out of the box and secondly the tool used to set the angle of the grind is pretty naff

What a fantastic piece of kit. Smooth wheels in balance. And all jugs included including large and small knife jigs.Just for once I picked the best one. Planes knives all razor sharp. Beware though family are now bringing their knives over.

Axminster wet stone grinder
Water everywhere I would expect some but not inside casing where all electrics are .I notice Axminster sells an extended and or a modified water container ?..

Good machine
Does a good job, could not justify £500 more for different make. Easy to use, AND comes with all the attachments that other makes don't. Only drawback is the it gets a hell of a lot of water about, especially when sharpening kitchen knives.
