Helpful planning tool
I'm looking at several European trips and this map has been helpful in laying out the different trips to help me plan which one to go on. I've always enjoyed Rick Steves' travel information.

Good map for planning travel to most of Europe
Got this map recently as a general planning map for future travel to Europe. What it is not is a serious, detailed road map. Yes, it does show some roads, with their names (M6, A5, etc.), but more just for general planning of how you might get from here to there. If you were actually planning to drive around France, for example, you should get a real road map from Michelin or whatever. This is a good general map for learning about Europe and planning a trip, and for that, I think it works well. Be aware, as others have mentioned, that it cuts off parts of Eastern Europe, so anything (roughly), east of Budapest isn't included. All of Italy is shown, but not Greece. For me, it covers anywhere I would want to go, so I like it. Feels like quality, water-resistant material. The reverse side has detailed maps for many major cities.

Should be "Western Europe"
The last I checked, the usual definition of the border of Europe is the Ural mountains in Russia. This map actually should be titled Western Europe. Countries cut out entirely include Romania, Bulgaria, European Turkey, Ukraine, Moldova Byeloruss and Western Russia. Countries which are only partially included include Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia Serbia, Bosnia, and Montenegro. It even looks like the edge of the map may omit a mile or two of the heel of Italy. Greece, European Turkey, Macedonia, Albania and parts of Serbia and Bulgaria are on a separate map with the city maps on the back.I understand that Steves was trying to publish a map for locating major tourist destinations, in terms of which cities were on the map, but to leave out so many countries is disappointing.I got this because I realized that I had not really kept up on the borders of all of the countries affected by the fall of the USSR and the breakup of Yugoslavia, and it was only partly useful.

Helpful for trip planning
Seventeen years ago, my husband and I took a three-week trip to Europe. Rick Steves' books were a great help planning that trip, so when we decided to extend a two-week transatlantic cruise and visit a few countries in addition, I again turned to Rick Steves. His books are full of interesting information. This map is sturdy and fairly easy to read with my 71-year-old eyes.

Great quality, classic fold-up map.
There is still something great about spreading a large-format map on a table... call me nostalgic, but it just feels right. And this is a great quality, classic fold-up map. Strong coated paper to repel water / resist tearing. Good detail, great value.

Not a map of Europe
Would be great if it specified that it’s missing a heap of Europe.

Good planning Map
A great map for planning a Europe Trip. Writing is a bit small and would have liked it to stretch a bit more into Eastern Europe. Very durable construction.
