Makes our gas fireplace look like wood
I carefully placed small pieces in between the jets of our gas fireplace, and I LOVE the effect! Gives the look of embers all around the logs. A friend even asked when we had time to collect wood...

This stuff is great. Looks great!
Not much to say here. It looks like embers and fire. Looks great. The bag has more than you will use in a lifetime...

Good product, takes some creativity to get a good look!
The product was as described, however the packaging was not very good and the bag had a hole in it when it arrived. The product does what it is supposed to but it does take some experimenting with placement to get a good affect.

Farcical Delivery Wait
Products - when it finally arrived - was as described. The overnight delivery turned out to be a week, despite there being no adverse weather. I could have walked to and from my local hardware store several dozen times. Shame on me for believing the quoted delivery date.

Rock wool for gas fire
The media could not be loaded. This took a bit of experimentation, but I was able to drop small pieces of the rock wool into the flames from the fire so that they would glow. The lava pieces do not glow, they simply cover the metal base of the fireplace, so those also need to be carefully placed so as not to block and of the gas jets. My only problem is that the bag of rock wool is probably sufficient to do 100 fires. Something else to store, I guess.

Looks great
At first, the flames had a little difficulty going through placed a little less and it worked fine.

If the gas pipe isn't buried in lava rock, it won't look real.
Nothing to dislike. It workes.

Realism takes a bit of patience but great result
I didn't take a BEFORE pic but you can guess it was just jets of propane.I bought the rockwool 6oz (basically safe and sound insulation) vermiculite, extra ceramic logs (small-sized) and lavarocks. When placing the insulation (rockwool) make sure you rip it apart. I tried different methods but keeping it in larger clumps didn't allow the flames to get through, I actually starved my gas and shut off the propane :)The vermiculite was separate so they literally put a few pieces of insulation in a bag by itself lol pretty funny. I spread the vermiculite across the top and down the sides.I used the lavarocks to hide the exposed insulation at the forward edge and hide all metal at the bottom. The lqvarovka were alot more than I n3eded. The ceramic logs were plenty for a small fireplace. If I was to do it again (I probably will tweak it) is to frame the flame a bi5 further up in the fireplace. So like prop up the ceramic logs first, allow tons of air at the jets...so maybe big empty pocket under the whole 'fire' to maize the flame (at present I may be blocking some).Overall, well done thanks to the suppliers. This will last longer than any one person's lifetime it looks like.

Does the job and improves the glow effect.
Given that you only get small packs of earth wool and vermiculite the price was astonishing.
