The best for cold relief
These lozenges are the best for stopping a cold in its tracks IF you start taking them at the first sign. They may not be effective for every single cold, but my husband and I swear by them. They won't help much if you let a cold get really started, but when you get that first tickle or irritating sinus drainage that acts like a cold coming on, use two in quick succession and hit it hard the first couple days. Sometimes that's all it takes to keep the symptoms at bay and often times the cold is virtually gone. They leave an aftertaste and almost seem to dull the taste buds, but that's worth it to keep a cold from getting full blown and miserable.

non-compliance due to taste
The directions say to dissolve one lozenge every 2 waking hours, so this essentially means non-stop all day long since the lozenges take FOREVER to dissolve in the mouth. I think they also affect taste sensitivity; I tasted nothing for a whole day after taking 2 or 3 lozenges, but then my taste came back after ~ 24 hours. Also, be advised that the zinc form is zinc gluconate, not zinc acetate.I don't know if it works, since I can't bring myself to take it as directed.I'd recommend purchasing only one bottle first if you want to try it yourself, but realize that one whole bottle will be needed for each person. One bottle = one course of treatment.

Not a 4 pack! Wrong Product Received!
Buyer beware! Not only did I receive the wrong product, as you can see in the picture, but it was not a 4 pack as advertised. Disappointed! This is false advertising!

favorite zinc lozenge
I've tried a number of zinc lozenges and this one is my favorite -- yes, they are slower to dissolve than some, but that's what I'm after (zinc lozenges as cold aid aren't meant to be merely a zinc supplement). I also don't like the lozenges that bury the zinc in over-sweet flavoring. If you want to sample these for less cost they sell a box of foil-wrapped lozenges or single roll packs (like rolaids).

Very effective zinc lozenges
As soon as you feel a sore throat beginning, start using these lozenges. They are big, so I cut them into fourths and just use one of those pieces every few hours. They do leave an after taste, but I think that coating left behind is part of what works. We keep a supply in the house at all times and have very good success with the product.Mark C

Best Tasting Zinc Lozenge
I had a cold and read on Dr. Mercola's website that zinc is great to reduce effects of the cold and to prevent colds/flu during the cold season. I tried a bunch of different brands from Whole Foods. ThereZinc was the best I found in terms of effectiveness and aftertaste. Other brands left an unpleasent metal taste in my mouth that lasted a couple of hours, so I did not want to drink or eat anything afterwards.I used TheraZinc in conjunction with cleaning my ears with hydrogen peroxide and got well within a couple of days. I highly recommend cleaning ears with hydrogen peroxide and taking TheraZinc when you first start feeling the cold symptoms.
