This is a very bright and high quality flashlight. I bought it to free dive at my local lakes and have submerged it in water and everything seems to be as described. At this price I don't know why anyone would buy a conventional flashlight over this unit.

First one flooded the "bulb"....but continued to work for the rest of my 60 minute dive. Washed everything in fresh water...dried...and tightened the front glass by the inner aluminum ring. Has worked perfect ever since. Bought 2 more. Came with loose inside aluminum rings...tightened them before my first dive and never had a problem. 30 (long) dives later, still running the same set of 4 AA batteries. Really bright, but not too bright. I like to have my peripheral vision at night.

My dive buddy and I bought this flashlight recently in preparation for night dives in Cozumel. Construction appeared good with the exception of the switch which has no detent to keep it in the on or off position. Light output is respectable and the housing seemed well sealed. We both set out on a night dive after I double checked the tightness of the junction between the battery compartment and light head. This is critical to ensure water does not infiltrate the light at depth. This torch is rated at 100 meters or 330 feet which is much deeper than a recreational diver would go. Our night dive achieved a maximum depth of 64 feet with a total dive time of 43 minutes. Both of our torches functioned well underwater for the duration of the dive. When we got back on the boat my dive buddy couldn’t get her torch to turn off. I inspected it and was shocked to see the condition of the torch. The LED housing was flooded with water except for a tiny bubble of air [see pictures below]. The battery compartment was also wet inside. I am a flashlight aficionado and have many flashlights so I am well versed in making sure gaskets are properly positioned on them since most of my flashlights are rated to a depth of two meters of water resistance. As said earlier, I double checked both lights to be sure the gaskets we properly positioned and cinched down tightly between the head and battery compartment. Upon returning to our room, I noticed that condensation had formed on the inside surface of the lens of my torch. When I removed the batteries, they were wet. Keep in mind we only went to 64 feet which is 266 feet above the 330 feet rating of this torch. To a diver, their torch is a primary life line for surviving a night dive. Thank God the torches functioned even in their compromised conditions. We both had backup torches for redundancy but most of the divers in our group had only one. Bottom line; if you are going to dive with one of these lights you shouldn’t count on it to be waterproof even at conservative depths. We both now have torches that are useless after their first night dive and the return window is closed so they are headed to the recycle bin. Don’t stake your life on the reliability of this torch but if you choose to, be sure you have a reliable backup. I had a backup that was purchased from this vendor that did not flood however, the charger for the 18650 batteries that came with it failed on the first use of it. Glad I had another set of the same type battery fully charged that I use for other flashlights.

Super bright. Easy to use with AA batteries.
