Very good deal for the price
This pie slicer doesn't cost much, but it is surprisingly durable and useful. I find myself using it for even more projects than its intended purpose, since the serrated edge is strong and sharp and the tool surface is wide, so it can be used on cakes, pies, bread, pancakes, cookies, you name it. The only thing I can think of that would make it better is if the handle were not hollow. Otherwise it is perfect.

Incredibly well designed tool
I was prepared to be underwhelmed by this gadget as I purchased it on a whim hoping to find a good pie/cake tool. Most of what we own is non-stick (yeah right), so using the pretty metal cake server is NOT an option, let alone a knife. This item is awesome. In a compact tool, you have cutting/slicing and serving capability. It also is sturdy and likely to last a while. If you've invested in non-stick bakaware, this is a must have tool. Well priced.

It even cuts lettuce
I bought this for cutting and serving cake at work, where we're not allowed to have anything that can be used as a weapon. I also wanted a one-piece design, so nothing would get stuck in any nooks and crannies and it won't fall apart. I haven't actually used this for cake yet, but I did use it to cut lettuce (metal will make lettuce turn brown), and it worked like a charm. I have no doubt it will work well cutting and serving cake or pie, as it was created to do, and the width is perfect for my needs.

Fabulous Teflon-safe pie and cake server
It fits well in your hand, it is very strong and lightweight, the serrated blade is surprisingly sharp but the tip is not quite as sharp so it is safe to use on non-stick surfaces (but be careful). It is great for cutting and then serving. I own the OXO and Pampered Chef non-stick pie and cake servers/slicer and the GastroMax is my favorite.

Use for serving many serving uses.
I really like the serrated edge that helps lift that contrary piece of pie out of the pie pan or the moist slice of cake off the plate. Very easy to clean too. Love it!

Does what I needed it to do.
(Full Review)Let me unusually start this review by saying that I wish the sellers would keep their pages upto date to make our job of finding what we're looking for that much easier. I think this particular seller would have more sales if the product wasn't listed as a Pellet Shovel considering it's a Cake Slicer. The only type of pellet you may want anywhere near your cake would be a chocolate chip, not cat tray litter!!Update: I see it's now been changed to a pie server, so that's an improvement.Ok, moving on...I specifically hunted for this particular "Cake Slicer" as I needed one that would be safe to use with non-stick cake tins so it wouldn't damage the coating. This is made fully of moulded Nylon which is a hard/solid material which keeps it's shape unlike a Silicon utensil you would use pre-cooking to scrape out the batter from your mixing bowl. For your reference both materials are suitable for all non-stick surfaces.I really wanted to be able to slice through chocolate brownies for instance whilst still in the square tin so I needed a sharp-ish edge to slice rather than squash the cake.I figured this would be an easy product to find that would have lots of choice. Not so, as all the cake slicers suitable for cutting (aswell as serving) all stated not for use with non-stick coatings. After almost giving up the search though sheer frustration I happened upon this one (and well done to you for finding it aswell! I think we both deserve an award of some kind). It's exactly what I was hoping for and does it's job well. Not only will it cut cleanly through the cake but you can also use it to serve up to the plate aswell. All without scraping the surface. The extra benefit of this one which is cleverly designed is that inbetween use it can simply be rested on the table without messing your tablecloth up. It does this because the handle lays flat on the table while the slice section is at an angle tilted upwards away from the surface. And the weight of the handle (or the lack of weight of the slicer) is sufficient so it doesn't tip over. That was the positives, but there is also a couple of negatives. The utensil itself has a cheap feel to it and this is purely because the moulded handle has no back to it. By this I mean the front is nicely shaped with a rounded look to it but this isn't followed through to the back (as you can view in my picture). I would have liked the handle to be at least flat on the underneath. This isn't shown in the product images so it cheapened the feel for me especially as the product is only light in weight. It doesn't cut like a knife would but as cakes are not very dense it doesn't really need to.Overall I'm still quite pleased and especially as it's the Only one I could find that actually does what it needs to while keeping my cake tins undamaged. Looked after correctly it should last a long time, and only cheap aswell so that's great. It is suitable to be cleaned in the dishwasher or under the tap, and give it a quick rinse in soapy water before the 1st use.Thankyou for reading my Full Review and please let me know if it's been Helpful to you.

Très bien
Et si je ne suis pas allée jusqu'à 5 étoiles, c'est seulement parce qu'il faut parfois forcer pour découper certaines tartes ou pizzas.
