CIVIVI Folding Pocket Knife Baklash C801H (Double Black)

Beautiful knife, it has great build quality, it looks great. Only fall back is that the flipper is a touch balky. You have to pop your wrist a little when using the flipper for the blade to snick into place. Which surprised me. Addendum: a drop of oil did the trick. Now the knife opens buttery smooth. I really like this knife. I was also looking at he Praxis, and decided on this one because the carbon black looked cook. And It is selling at a discount because it has been discontinued. Worth every penny. The blade is sharp, and seems to hold an edge. I will check in after it is used more.

This is a very nice, lightweight, and sharp knife. very sharp right out of the box and had a nice grip on the handle. the handle feels a little on the cheaper side but I cant complain because its a solid and strong knife.

What an excellent knife. And at $42.50 it's one of the best bargains you can find for the quality you get. Razor sharp out of the box. Super comfortable in the hand. Excellent jimping. Smooth action. Solid lock up. No hot spots. I just got it and I already know it's one of my best knives. I got the black G10 with stainless blade. Looks very nice, and the blued liners give it some cool, classy pop. Could work as a gentlemens...or gentleladies knife...but I see it as an edc workhorse. I did switch out the stock shiny pocket clip for a shorter black one to carry the knife more discreetly. This knife is awesome, better than a whole bunch of knives that cost much more. Only wish I got one sooner. Now that I did, I am going to buy another. Tan, stainless, with blue liners looks good! Thanks Civivi for producing top notch affordable knives. An exceptional knife and an astounding value. The same combination I've come to expect from Civivi. The little value brand that could. The Good. Perfectly executed hollow ground blade and near perfect tip design. The G-10 handle texture is surprisingly good and the knife sports hand-filling grip while still managing to look like a modern art peice. The thin-ground blade and stellar ergos allow for well controlled cutting over surprising long periods. The edge isn't perfectly polished but a little light stropping had it whittling hairs. Okay, so on to the fizz. Lately I've kinda been in love with the murdered out, all-black aesthetic on my knives. Not sure why... Maybe my inner ninja is crying out for attention. Who knows. I justify it pretending the black coating helps the blade resist corrosion and general wear and tear. This particular color combo was out of stock for about 6 months. When it came back and I reordered, I realized there was a slight hitch. No more blackwashed blade. It's still black... But it looks to be either a solid black DLC or Cerakote with no stone washing to be found. Granted this is nit-picky, even for me. After a while, the blade will take on its own unique look... and I know there are ways to stonewash a blade yourself...but I kinda wish it was already done since that's what's listed in the description and what appears in the product pic. Or it did right up until a few days after I got mine and the artwork all got updated with the new look. So...yeah...no harm, no foul. All that being said though, this is easily in my top 3 knives (owning 60+). Buy one before they go back out of stock.

A very well made and versatile knife for the price. The blade length, cutting edge and handle length are nearly identical to my favorite kitchen knife, making this perfect for cooking chores while camping. Very sharp when new, it's too soon for me to know how well it will hold its edge, but from what I've read this is an excellent steel, so I expect it to perform well. The opening action is very smooth and easy with one hand, and there's no spring to compress when closing so it closes very easily with one hand, too. There are a couple small things I would change in a perfect world. The liner lock does not protrude as far as I would like to easily release the blade for folding. Also, the clip is an odd shape, so somehow it stops me from easily clipping and unclipping. Not at all deal-breakers but worth mentioning.

Wow this is a good knife. Superb action, fit and finish. More comfortable in my hand than the full sized Praxis, which seems large and unwieldy to me. So if you want an improvement with different ergos, this a fine choice.
