A Cold White Sun (Constable Molly Smith Novels, 6) Paperback – August 1, 2013

Loved this book. Great writing

The setting was fantastic with snow and more snow and skiing. Several side issues detracted from the main event. The characters not all interesting, but some, including the policewoman were. Worth the read. Eerie with a teacher killed by shotgun blast while she did her AM walk with her dog in the cold and snow. Will make all dog walkers a bit jittery.

I would put this book in the "cozy" mystery type of book. The small insular town backdrop and the familiar types of people who inhabit this town make it chilling that a murder could have happened at all.

A number of times I was bounced out of the story when I saw a random paragraph just dropped in where it made no sense or words wrong (town instead of down) or all of a sudden the wife's name is used instead of the husband's mid paragraph. I have noticed this throughout the series. In fact, I have chosen not to read the last two books as I find it very disconcerting. You definitely need better proof reading.

Vicki Delaney gets better and better. I only wish she wrote faster. Can't wait for the next one. I try to savor them slowly but that never works. It is so nice to read a series of books, get to know the characters, and wish you could hang out with them. Please keep the stories coming, Vicki! I wish you continuing success.

I like this series and want more. The locals are believable and I enjoy getting to know them more and see them grow and change. The winter setting is so realistic and you can feel it. More please?

Constable Molly Smith mysteries are always a fun and challenging read with lots of twists and fascinating back story. I look forward to every new adventure of the young police woman and her not quit retired but wishing he were mentor, John Winters. A Cold White Sun was even more satisfying than expected.

I like cozy mysteries and really like this series.
