A very useful size, easily transported, and thick enough to be durable. While I don’t pay much attention to the color coding, multiple colors in the kitchen are always nice.New Star 15-inch by 12-inch chopping mats are available in color-coded sets of 4, 5, or 6. I purchased the 4 mat set. At 2 mm thick, these are about twice the thickness of standard flexible chopping mats but remain modestly flexible. The extra thickness makes them much more durable than thin chopping mats, and a useful alternative to thicker and heavier rigid cutting boards. One side of the mat is smooth, the other side has a little bit of texture to it. And these mats could do double duty as easy-to-clean place mats as long as you respect their temperature limits and don’t treat them as hot pads.Like virtually all plastic chopping mats and cutting boards, these mats cannot be used as hot pads. Most plastic chopping mats will deform or melt if subjected to temperatures much above 150 degrees F. Even boiling water can deform many plastic chopping mats. I have had a relatively thin plastic cutting board melt a bit at the bottom edge when subjected to the dry cycle of a dishwasher while in the bottom rack (and thus close to the heating element). I now avoid such problems by always doing a hand wash on plastic chopping mats and most plastic cutting boards. New Star recommends hand washing their chopping mats in warm water with mild dish soap.

This is my second purchase. When I received the first set, I had to order another.The cutting side of these are textured. The backside are not. The colors are very bright, clearly letting you know what cutting board is for what food to be cut up. Red has a cow, blue has a fish, yellow, a chicken & the green has a carrot.I ordered the second set for placemats or for when my grandkids are only & have their playdoh out.These, both sets are very sturdy & thick. Plenty thick enough not to cut through them, even with the sharpest of kitchen knives, yet flexible enough to fold a curve in them to pour your cuttings into your pot, pan, skillet or anything your cooking out of.There are placemats you buy in Walmart, & those other stores much much thinner then these cutting boards.I would gladly recommend these to anyone or gift them as housewarming gifts, prizes for showers etc.🐂🐷THANKS FOR READING, BYE.😄 🌽🐓

I just love these cutting boards. I’ve been using them everyday and you can’t even see the cut marks. The surface is pretty durable and have a little thickness to them. They are easy to clean and easy to use. They are not flimsy, but they are still bendable to fold to put cut foods in bowls or cookware. I like that they don’t curl up like other plastic cutting boards. They are also BPA free and are dishwasher safe. The have a nice finish to them (see photos).These are like professional grade cutting boards. Made from food grade plastics. This is the main reason for buying them. I looked at others, but for the safety and price, you can’t go wrong. I love the colors and characters to match each type of foods to cut. (vegetables, fish, beef and poultry) This way there is no cross contamination, especially with poultry and vegetables. These are great to show young adults how to not cross contaminate their foods. I would buy an extra set for a standby. Great gift ideal and nice to use by the barbecue this summer.

I bought these six years ago. I just replaced them (Jan. 2022) At this point , they were shot from daily use at home, at work for making lunch salads, etc. and one as a clean mat in front of the work microwave. The other one was given to a friend. Sturdy, bendable and easy to clean but plastic doesn't last forever. I'll be looking for the exact same thing to buy again in a few years. Well worth the price at $12.

These are very nice flexible cutting boards. The color coded with pictures do help a lot when you are cooking and have to cut several different things and if you don't want to contaminate the other food you are cutting like vegetables, fruits, breads, cheeses and stuff after cutting meat. You can lay out the boards in different locations on the counter or table. They flex nicely to pour the cut product into a bowl, pan or pot. They are dishwasher safe. After using them a few times, they still look new. I purchased the 4 piece set. There is also a 6 piece set you can purchase with 2 more cutting boards.  New Star Foodservice 42627 Flexible Cutting Board, 12-Inch by 15-Inch, Assorted Colors, Set of 6  as well as some other ones in different combinations as a set. I purchased the 4 piece set for the meats and vegetables. I did not see myself needing the bread and dairy ones in the 6 piece set since I don't really cut bread loaves much or cut blocks of cheese. But, they can be useful if you need them. I definitely recommend these because of the ease of use and cleaning, the flexible board to move and deliver the cut food pieces, the durability and the fun factor with the colors and the picture coding on them. Also, the price is nice. If later they become old and in need of replacement, my investment in them paid was well paid back in return from usage and replacing them would not cost very much. But, so far so good. They are doing the job and making things easier and fun. They can also be used as a good teaching piece in the kitchen if you are cooking with your kids teaching them about food contamination. And, also a good reminder for yourself to help you pay attention especially when the kitchen gets a little hectic.

I love everything about these cutting boards EXCEPT for their thinness. So far we've had no issues as a result of it, but part of the reason cutting boards exist is to protect the knives, and without something that the knife can dig into a little bit, you actually can damage the blade. These boards are so thin that they have to be very hard to cut into, which I'm worried will affect my blades long term. Otherwise, they haven't been an issue. I haven't even cut a scratch into any of them, and they've maintained flexability and survived a couple of dishwasher rides without issue. Well worth the money, I just hope they come out with a thicker version at some point.

Description of goods states product dimensions 0.89 cm thick. These boards are less than 1mm thick and poorly designed. I will know better next time and spend more money to get better quality so they last.
