Good book for class.

Amazing book. Was using it for my peace and conflict resolution class this semester. it taught me a lot, would recommend.

Wonderful and insightful articles by scholars in the Conflict Management field.

Meh. Had to get it for school. It's not terrible ... Just not my ideal reading.

This book was assigned for my International Conflict class. Aside from general statements that are rarely ever adequately qualified, the authors arguments are all over the place. It reads more like a letter to the editor or amateur op-ed piece than an actual textbook. You spend more time trying to piece together scattered bits of information than you spend actually gaining insight. I don't know if the authors contributed to this book to pad their wallets or resume, but if it wasn't hastily written, their style just flat-out sucks.My advice? If you have this book assigned as reading for your class, ask the professor if he/she wouldn't consider a better book.
