Good begginers book.
This book is HUGE! It has the U.S. broken up into regions and it has pictures and info for most all arrowheads found in that region. Its a great set up and a great idea. Its an OK book to have, just remember every word and every picture is not Gospel. But I reccomend it. (I have been an artifact hunter for 22 years) A review for the owners..... the new digital pictures that have been added sometimes are a bit fuzzy. Also it would be nice in the future if you just threw away every photo you have and redo the entire book with all new and fresh stuff. There wasn't alot of difference between this one and the eighth edition I had. Also, I'm in contact with artifact hunters all over the place of many levels of hunting and what I hear a lot is that folks want a small section with grooved axes and plummets and some pots and Celts and stuff. Just some stuff to show newbies what to look for. Newbies always come to your books first and they need to know

Identification
I have most of all of the Overstreet books, lots of good information about the Indians past. These have the most information about identifying what type of arrowhead you may have found. Remember area found is very important when trying to identify type

Great Book. Being an avid collector for over 40 years I see the changes not only in the Value, prices and new Names. This Industry has grown beyond just a "Simple Collector" to a huge growth in people buying. They are so much harder to find. I am on the"Front Line" out there finding them. Most of the Collection is in BANK DEPOSIT BOXES for security. From thieves to "Fakes" every where, I quietly help Collectors in telling the "Real" from "Fakes". In the last five years there are many spending a lot on very authentic reproductions. Some are even selling Kits on the Internet with instructions on how to do it! This Guide is an excellent reference. Robert Overstreet, well done.

Contents of book is comprehensive
This is a fully comprehensive book with excellent illustrations and information. From that perspective, I couldn't be more pleased with the book.I was, however, a bit disappointed with the condition of the cover of my book and several of the last pages. Some of the clear protective film (that protects most paper back books) on the back cover of the book was splitting apart from the paper part of the cover and several of the last pages were damaged. I contacted Amazon regarding this matter, but I never heard back from them.

Fantastic book
Nice book and detailed pictures. A lot more pics and pages than I expected. The only way it could be better is if the pictures were color.

THE guide for Indian Arrowheads
My dad has been an avid artifact and arrowhead collector for decades. He's already pretty knowledgable on Indian artifacts and so I didn't want to buy him just any book. After a few days of off-and-on research, I stumbled upon this book. What a gem!!My father absolutely loves this book. He said this is THE guide to evaluating your arrowheads. He went through his entire collection and couldn't believe what some of the pieces in his collection were worth. If you're looking for a solid guide, this is it.

Far exceeds expectations
This book is a great reference book filled with photos of thousands of years of projectile points and arrows. The only thing that could make this book better would be colour photos. We are most pleased with it and use it regularly.
