The Plant Recipe Book: 100 Living Arrangements for Any Home in Any Season

This is such a beautiful and inspirational book I don't know where to begin! For those who have written about the availability of some of the plants, I find the book offers much in the way of inspiration and how arrangements are planned and put together. If you can't find the exact ingredients, find something similar or in a similar color palette and you'll create something beautiful. Why put limits on what you can create? Just like you find on food recipe sites, substitutions are common. I am a total beginner at this and found the techniques straightforward and extremely useful. Highly recommended!

The plant arrangements are gorgeous and the detailed instructions with behind the scenes photos teach eye opening ‘how to’ tricks. This book is perfect for anyone who wants inspiration for sprucing up their home - with greenery. I bought it as a gift - because it is both useful and beautiful. Whether- on a coffee table or a work table — it’ll be sure to get some attention.

This book is perfect for me! I'm not creative enough to design my own arrangements, but I can follow directions very well. The photos are beautiful and each recipe comes with a clear list of recommended container, potting mix, and plants, even in what order to place the plants in the pot. I've followed several recipes and truly enjoy each one! So professional looking!

A truly beautiful book! The recipes make it easy to follow and make creative living arrangements I never would have thought to do. Bonus - arrangements are made with plants so can be used again in the garden or added into planters (like I did). I am inspired to try new things! Love it.

There is a lot to love here. The arrangements are truly stunning and original. The author is very specific about the size of the plants that go into each "recipe" as well as how long you can expect it to last. My book is already well peppered with post-its. What isn't as clear is that A LOT of the plants are difficult to find. Don't assume you can bookmark a recipe and trot down to your local nursery to get what you need. I had my heart set on several arrangements but could only find about half of what was required. Undeterred, I went home and searched the internet for several hours, only to find that things were currently unavailable or were more readily available overseas. There is almost no mention in the book regarding the rarity or seasonality of specimens. Seasoned gardeners might be more aware of these things, but I'm just a newbie with a lot to learn. An appendix or source list would've been a great addition. I'd give this book 5 stars for the beauty of it, but just 3 stars for the "recipe" part.

Gorgeous pictures of arrangements composed of potted plants. Every project has detailed step by step instructions. There are lots of beautiful creative arrangements that will grow for weeks or more in the house. This book should give you lots of great ideas to combine plants to make them much more fascinating than a single pot of, say, rabbit's foot fern. This book is a lot of fun!

I loved this book! I found loads of inspiring photographs full of ideas. I think this is more about getting a container started and how you might think about it, rather than copying the exact plants. I found it very helpful and the photography is really amazing. I bought one of these for my mother as well. She was very happy!

Loved this book. You may not want to use the 'recipe' format but it's full of truly stylish and inspirational ideas. Beautiful photographs and enough technical information to satisfy the horticulturalist. Up-to-the-minute ideas for the new wave houseplant enthusiast.

This is a hardcover book, approximately 21 by 24 cm. It is printed on good quality thick paper. The bulk of the pages consist of step-by-step instructions on how to put together a particular arrangement. There are also pages with brief descriptions of certain succulents and 2-page spreads of elements found in the next few pages of arrangements. On the whole, this book is a lovely visual feast. I use this book for my art as I love drawing and painting unusual botanical arrangements, not just the usual flower arrangements. It is a great book to have, even as a coffee-table book or a conversation starter in any gathering.
