I'm going to try to straighten it out to use because I hate sending things back
You would think they would protect the tip with a small plastic sleeve, but no. It came with the tip all bent and bristles sticking at angles. The brush was stuck in a bag and bag folded over so it made the bristles squish all over. I'm going to try to straighten it out to use because I hate sending things back, but won't buy again.

Nice, but could be better
I purchased this and another similar brush and I like the other better. This holds a lot of paint and doesn't shed. However, it's impossible to properly clean...even with soap (I use acrylics). I've only used it a few times and already the bristles are stained with color. I refrain from using it with light-colored paint as I am worried any paint/color I wasn't able to wash out will compromise my painting.

Series 235 #8 - more like an #18
The brush I ordered is labeled Winsor & Newton, University Round, Series 235, 8. This is not a #8 brush; it's HUGE. An 8 should have a bristle width of approx. 1/4" and a bristle length of approx. 13/16" per the brush charts at Blick, and Jerrys Artarama. This beast has a bristle width of approx. 5/16" and a bristle length of 1.25". The attached photos are a comparison with a Princeton Heritage #8 round. The Winsor & Newton is a nice brush but not the one I need. Fortunately Amazon offered a returnless refund for it.

Quality is not dependable
I ordered a size 0 Windsor & Newton paintbrush which arrived broken in half, and the brush itself was sticking out in two directions so was poor quality as well. It had been shipped in a soft package so when I asked for a replacement I mentioned that. Nevertheless the replacement arrived in another soft package. It wasn't broken, but it is bent. The brush itself is nice quality, so I'm going to keep it rather than risk getting another one with some other unexpected problem!

Winsor & Newton Round 8 is your essential watercolor instrument.
Watercolor artists will not find a more suitable tool for watercolor artwork than Winsor & Newton's size 8 round, short or long handle. The round 8 meets the qualifications to accomplish most watercolor techniques. Unlike sable reds - tacklon synthetic whites hold more color from water well to pallet to paper - and you can see the color on the white brush that will apply to your paper. This particular instrument is what most American universities order by the gross and is provided to art students.Push paint!

Nice Brush, But
Interesting that this was my review from a previous purchase last year that I never posted. **Great brush, if it hadn't have been sent to me dirty, as if used. Previous brush sent to me also damaged. Bad quality control.**I recently ordered two more brushes. This time they appeared clean and not used. But each paintbrush was mailed to me in a huge box, separately. That's right - one very large box PER BRUSH. This kind of shipping waste overkill really ticks me off.

Best
These are the best brushes, the others are all hype. Used for oil painting

Durable!
This is a great brush for applying acrylic paint. It's well constructed, holds it's shape after many, many uses and cleans out easily. The bristles are just the right texture- not too hard, not too soft. Best synthetic brush I've come across. The last one I purchased 5 years ago is still going strong....a very good artist's tool!

Nice cheap brush
Like all miniature painters I’m always on the look out for good brushes at a good price. This so far has satisfied both of the criteria. It’s a synthetic brush from a good manufacturer, and so far it has served me well. The price is great and the delivery was spot on.

Photo is wrong.
The description of Bright no. 10 is correct. It’s a lovely 2cm short flat brush but the University range feels a bit too soft and full for acrylic and a bit too hard for watercolour. Might be perfect for gouache. I haven’t tried.

General "work horse" brush.
This brush looks smart so I want to use it, and the bristles return to their shape after each use. Good for general painting, but not really for large areas of wash, I will use this brush often.

Fantastic brush
Brush came with plastic protector around the head and neck, clean immaculateI use the brush for tattoo style water colour paintings it produces consistent colour without streaky brush marks, it's great for either saturating or shading. The brush keeps it's shape impeccably.

Great brush for detail.
This is a great brush for painting but I found that it was a fabulous brush for graphite work. Love it.
