For something so inexpensive, I was impressed with the quality of the recordings with this little microphone.I'm using this with my iTouch to make phone calls. While it's true that when you plug in the microphone, then the speaker stops working, but there is a way around this.If you use the app - Talkatone, it allows you to make free phone calls via Google Voice. It also opens up a dialog box when you make a call and you can toggle the "speaker" box so that now you can hear your phone conversation - I'm impressed.To hear the iTouch when it rings, you do have to take out the microphone, but that's the way the iTouch is setup - nothing you can do about that right now.

I have an iPod Touch 3G, and it records fine. I mean, for the price, I wouldn't have been that upset if it hadn't worked at all. A couple of caveats: 1) I have a protective rubber sleeve surrounding my iPod -- like most people do -- and the mic wouldn't click all the way in unless I took it off. I can slip the end of the case where the headphone jack is part way off, so not a huge deal. The other is that while CrazyOnDigital offers free shipping, they sent it Parcel Post. Normally mail takes 2 days to reach me from California, but this took 8 days. Again, for the price, I can't complain. I just got it, so we'll see how long it lasts.

I was a little worried about these when I read a review of one falling apart, but it was a pretty good risk reward at around $2. I ordered 2 of them and they both work. The construction seems pretty solid so far. I use them with my iPhone 3G. The sound is much better than the built in microphone. The recording level is much higher than the built in microphone. For that reason the built in microphone is almost useless to record things like meetings or classes. With these however, you can hear everything in a room. These microphones give much cleaner sound for dictation as well; for use in Dragon Naturally Speaking. I like the fact that it has a keychain loop so I can carry it around everywhere and only use it when I need it. I use the Happy Talk or HT iPhone App for recording dictations, because it gives you a choice of 3 different recording levels. Level one is about the same as the built in memo app. Levels 2 and 3 are higher for quieter or more distant sounds.

Bought it because my history professor made us do an interview for an essay. He mentioned this type of product to us. I have an iPod touch and I had it sitting on the table between my subject and I. It caught out entire conversation and was great. Loved not having to spend a ton and it allowed the interview to go smoothly as possible like a normal conversation.Haven't had need to use it since! but I have it, and it worked great

These worked great when I had a Ipod Nano with screen. When I plugged it into the headphone jack it became a great voice and room recorder.

I use this microphone instead of the clip-on mike that came with the PS4. Just plug it into the DualShock 4 controller. It's small, doesn't get in the way (unlike the wires of the clip-on mike), and works great for voice commands. It's sensitive enough that I can speak in a normal voice.

This little microphone improves on the quality of the recordings with my iPod Touch 4G. It's so small I can see losing it easily. But at under $3.00 I am not going to angst over it like a $30 unit. The microphone is all hard plastic and the pin seats firmly in the socket. I was expecting a really poor product. This little thing rocks.

I have head some really bad experiences with recorders. I like to record lectures, and the only luck I have had with recorders is them breaking. A year ago I won an ipod and this year I had seen this little microphone advertised. I promised myself that I would get one. To make a long story short, the recorded sound that this tiny microphone pick up is outstanding. I wanted to really test it so I put it 30 feet away from me and whispered and it picked it up!!! WoW!!! This is an amazing buy!!!! However I made one mistake I ordered it from out of the country so my credit card charged me the extra shipping fee. That was a bummer, but otherwise for a little over $3.00 it is TOTALLY worth it!!!
