Carver CSR Scooter Surf Rack (Moped)

These are killer! I finally get to combine my two favorite adventures: surf trips and moto trips! I admit I was a little apprehensive but pulled the trigger after reading reviews. My wee-strom has a topcase on the back so I had to modify with heavy duty large washers and chuck the metal plate. They're solid though, I can literally go as fast as I care to and don't even feel any kind of turbulence under 80mph (and even then it's super minimal). The nose of my 6'0 board does touch my knee but not obtrusively. I also can't use both panniers when carrying the board but I rarely need that much space with a large top case, left pannier and duffle strapped to back seat. My buddy got one for his 800GS, it's now become his main surf vehicle.

The surf rack for is pretty good, its stable, adjustable, lightweight and does the job. However, its definitely not worth the price if you ship it internationally. The installation instructions are pretty basic and does not fit all scooters. I had to cut the metal bit off my rear rack. It works best if your scooter rack is flat and has grills cause the racking mounts are pretty wide approximately 15cm by 20cm with one straight line through the middle for the bolts to go through. Some installation tips: bolt & washer/large plate goes on top of rack, heavier plate/nut with 4 drilled holes goes below the rack.

These racks were easily modded to work on my small mule. Let me just say- this new hands free trek to my local shred spot allows me to keep both hands on the rein and my mule straight and steady. The cliffs here are very dangerous and rockslides are all too common. One must consider safety as a priority. These racks are worth their weight in gold. 5 stars.

After only one month and less than 20 rides on road, a crack appeared on the rack. I can’t use it anymore because it could break during a ride and cause an accident

This thing works as advertised. I have a couple small gripes but overall I like it. I attached it to my 1978 suzuki gs 750. I've gone 50mph with my 5'4 simmons. Here's the problems: 1) Why they use this crutch nipple quick release assembly I have no idea. A much better and sturdier system would've been some wing nuts and bolts....I guess people might lose those etc but I take function over convenience. I don't trust those nipple mechanisms but so far they havent failed me. 2) This rack can only hold one board and it can't be bent out to fit 2. All the racks on scooters in Bali could fit 2, this one it is impossible. I am going to work on making some legs for 2 boards and if I do I'll post the results. .......Overall good product but could use a few tweaks to get to 5 stars

I was very happy with the fit and function of the rack. It has been quite nice using it on my Rad Mini..

I just received this scooter surfboard mount and was a bit hesitant as my 2012 Kymco People 150 scooter has a kind of funky tail rack with only a single hole in it (see before and after pics). This Carver rack allows a lot of flexibility in its mounting system. Props to their design. It works like a charm and bolted on solid and securely. If your scooter has a tail rack, you can make this product fit on it. Mounting plates are very heavy duty and well rubberized. I've never bothered with writing a review but stoked on companies that design and bring to market unique and needed products.

I used the rack for about a week. My bike fell over and the rack was bent. Now the rack is completely unusable. I contacted the seller and they declined to give me any sort of reimbursement/discount on a new rack. If you leave your ride outside and there is a chance of it blowing over, I don't recommend the rack. However, other than the bending, it worked well.
