Using for 2.5 years and it still cuts beautifully...
I researched this paper cutter before buying it so when i saw a used in like new condition one popped up for sale i immediately bought it. 2.5 yrs later the blade is still sharp and it's still going strong. It cuts clean and neat. I use it to cut regular copy paper, cardstock and butcher paper. I wish it had measurements pass the cut line to accurately cut paper and cardstock of different width. I love the light weight, smooth finish metal body and the numbers and words are written in blue and white color that is beautiful and easy to read or find among other crafting items. Blade cuts clean, no jagged edges. I recommend this product.

I LOVE it!!
Earlier this year I bought a larger model (26” cutting length), and I was really happy with it. I got that one to cut down large sheets of watercolor paper because it’s so much more economical to buy the 22 X 30” size. But, there are some smaller things I wanted to cut, and I wasn’t that happy with the Fiskars that are basically a straight blade that gets dull fairly quickly. It’s also hard to keep the paper in place unless you’re very careful. People give great reviews to that style because it’s inexpensive, but I wanted something with a little heft and a reliable cut. This is it! I saw some of the reviews that weren’t that great, but I think their needs/expectations were different from mine. I don’t care about cutting a stack of paper. I only cut one sheet at a time, and all I care about is accuracy. Along with that, it’s a great size. I like that I can get replacement blades and cutting mats. The storage is a plus, too. I’ll use this one mostly for creating greeting cards, and watercolor swatch cards. I’m so happy!!!

Last model lasted me 18 YEARS!
Wonderful little paper slicer. Easy to use with a smooth glide slicer and measurement marks. I just got a replacement for the same model slicer that I had for 18 YEARS!

Awesome cutter!
Not bad, butyou may need to get spare blades or mats as it seems to dull after 50 sheet work loads.

I Got My Moneys Worth
I tried to use this trimmer yesterday and could not get it to cut. Today I put in a new blade, and it still would not cut. So, I'll have to buy another trimmer. I'm giving it 5 stars because I bought it on Amazon on Aug 2, 2008. It is 17 1/2 years later, so I would have to say that it has served me well and that I will purchase another one.

CARL Professional Rotary Paper Trimmer 18 inch- THE BEST
For years, I had an Exacto Rotary Paper Cutter/Trimmer and I loved it. The blade stayed sharp, the "line" for cutting was STRAIGHT as an arrow but eventually (after 15 years of fairly heavy use), I had to replace it. So, of course, I bought another Exacto Rotary however the style I'd had previously was not available. I bought the closest I could and I hated it the very first cut I attempted. You had to "re-roll" the blade up and down Several times to get a clean cut AND the "line-up" was always off a hair. Did I mention how much I hated it? Anyway, a month ago I got thoroughly disgusted and threw it in the trash. I ordered this Carl Professional Rotary Trimmer and "downsized" to an 18" (which is more than plenty for the crafts I do). At the First Cut; I knew I loved this!! I told my husband how happy I was; literally, I was nearly jumping up and down after the frustration from my previous cutter/trimmer. The "line-up" is perfectly straight. One slice and it's a done deal. Due to it's smaller size (width wise), it is easier to store for more handy access in my office. One of the Smartest touches is the company put a big sticker on the underside of the Trimmer with a listing of any replacement parts, their numbers, and their website address. The instruction booklet that comes with it has their email address, as well. I taped that to the bottom, as well. There is also a compartment under the trimmer to store an extra blade (up to 3) in. Very thoughtful! Quality product. I highly recommend this model of the Carl Trimmer.

perfect for scrapbook moms... not so much for other uses
As a part-time freelance photographer I needed a photo trimmer that would replace a several hundred dollar workhorse that has unfortunately seen its last trim. Seeing almost 5 star reviews and the low price of this trimmer, I was willing to give it a try. I definitely wasn't getting my hopes up with this "professional" trimmer. As someone has already mentioned in one of the reviews, professional is everything this unit is not. Even with my low expectation, I was disappointed. The first thing I used this trimmer for was some passport photos for a customer and his family. Talk about some inconsistent cuts. I could have probably done a better job taking a kitchen knife and a straight edge!!! It is practically impossible to make a square cut with this trimmer. The head with the blade and the plastic guide is flimsy and wobbles/twists when ran across paper. I made probably around 30 passes total and could already see scoring lines on the rubber/plastic cutting mat. Now, the scoring marks did NOT affect the cuts just yet, but I can see how this would start to become a problem with frequent use and how the blade would ride in the groove. I know someone out there would say I was pressing too hard to cause the scoring lines... I assure you I was not. I was as gentle as could be, just firm enough to cut in one pass with no repeat runs. After little debate, I've decided this trimmer wasn't for me. If you're a scrapbook/collage/family album type of person... this unit is perfect for you. Where lines don't have to be perfectly square and you could afford slightly imperfect edges. (notice I said slightly) If you're in any type of a professional environment... look elsewhere.

Very nice paper cutter for the price!
So far I'm really enjoying my paper trimmer! I have a lot of left over 13" x 19" paper from school and this trimmer does a great job at cutting it down to other sizes that I like to print more often such as 11" x 17", 9" x 12", 5" x 7" etc. anything up to 18" :) the edges are nice and smooth, and it's very easy to line up and cut accurately. I cut a lot of thicker photo paper too for art prints and haven't had any issues with the edges fraying or looking wonky. I've cut quite a bit of paper so far and still don't feel the need to replace the blade or the mat yet, but when I do they have some pretty handy instructions on how to do so. For the price, this has definitely been working super well as a paper cutter! I recommend!

un peu difficile au début
je vous conseille de vous pratiquer sur du papier avant de couper. Une fois que vous avez compris le fonctionnement - pression, règle, tout va bien et elle coupe très droit.

Great tool, but with signs of use
The box was previously opened - torn in a couple of places. Cutting mat had cutting marks on it, as if someone has already used the tool. I've tried on a couple of sheets of office paper - worked great, no complaints. BUT. This item was intended as a gift, so the whole situation was quite awkward. So only 4 stars, not for the item itself, but for the used condition.

Product description was confusing
I received the trimmer as promised, thank you. However, I was disappointed that although the selling data reflected the inclusion of 10 blades, there were none and there was only a repository capable of holding only three blades. With this RT-200 we are replacing an older DC-200 from RotaTrim which are remarkably alike even the numbers and description of the blades are the same. The DC-200 has a repository capable of storing 12 blades, so you can see that my recent purchase is not as functional, which is disappointing. I now want to provide the blades identified on your outer box, can you advise if you sell them as an accessory to the RT-200. Regards, Richard

No good at all. Avoid
After paying for it, delivery was change from 3 days to one month. This is of not use to me. I asked for a retun and I have to pay for the postage what I realised is going yo be very expensive as digging into it I realised that the item is posted from the US! Please avoid this product and company if UK based
