The Organised Mum Method: Transform your home in 30 minutes a day eBook : Bray, Gemma: desertcart.co.uk: Kindle Store Review: Easy routine that yields results. - This is the best book about housework that I have ever read ( and I’ve read a few). The routine is easy to follow and yields results without being overwhelming. Gemma’s book is very inspirational and includes some original ideas and quotes. Gemma shares some useful tips that will also save you time. If I had to recommend a book to a new Mum, wife or homemaker, it would definitely be this one. Well done Gemma and thank you. Review: Relatable and realistic - I actually read Gemma's books backwards- I got The Organised Time Technique from the library, enjoyed the concepts and her writing style and was intruiged about TOMM. As with most good things, the methodology is incredibly simple. Housework can be overwhelming. Trying to summon up the energy to deal with the chaos, having a binge cleaning day only for hard work to be obliterated by crazy toddler is all very disheartening. This method is realistic and helps stop the stressing and obsessing. Ideal for people who suffer from procrastination &/or perfectionism. My only critique is that doing dishes isn't included in the level 1 tasks but I'm trying to get better on doing them as and when. Right, off to do my 30 mins now!

Great plan, but more than half an hour a day
I like this book: it offers hope each time I try to keep up. But the tagline "transform your home in thirty minutes a day" should have an "extra" in there. Because the 30min doesn't include daily hoovering of the house, doing the dishes three times a day, a few minutes cleaning the bathroom each day, washing laundry, putting it on the line, taking it off the line, folding it and putting it away, and making beds, all of which the author claims can be done in 15mins! The not-counted daily tasks take me around one hour, maybe longer, and only if I go at it hell-for-leather. I live in a four bed, two story house and even the most superficial of hoovers takes twenty minutes. I also don't have a dishwasher, which perhaps most people do. All that said, if you can find the time and energy to squeeze another thirty minutes out of yourself after you've done the basics, then this book is exactly what you are looking for. The author is warm and likeable. The plan is practical and, time/energy allowing, do-able. I think if I was a stay at home mum I could really do this. Unfortunately as a full time worker with kids (and a husband from the dark ages) I struggle. I still think it's a great book and it's always close at hand, but mums who work full-time may find it hard to maintain.

Fantastic book
This book changed the way I view housework and made my life easier. I was sceptical at first but it really does work. Before reading I was struggling and constantly thinking about all the housework I had to do. Now everything is much more organised and cleaner, I do next to no ironing and my husband gets involved. Well worth a read, highly recommended.

One of the best decisions I've made as a mum!
When people said that the TOMM method was "life changing" I was usually a little sceptical about if it would ACTUALLY be for me. I tried it half heartedly on and off a few times over the last couple of years and didn't really get anywhere with it. However, since then I've become a mum for the first time and during lockdown in the UK my house became an absolute bomb site with no visitors to give me the fear to clean! I hit the point a couple of months ago where my son was becoming mobile and needed clear (and clean!) floor space to move around and I decided to really commit to the method. Well, to all those people who I rolled my eyes at for saying it was "life-changing" please accept my humblest apologies... I've now well and truly joined your ranks. Not only is my house cleaner, I'm just more organised in general as I need to be able to fit everything around my son's schedule. I've found on of the best things has been having the correct tools for the job and my two favourites are a cordless vacuum cleaner and a spray mop. Seriously worth the investment to get these, it makes the daily quick running around and jobs like cleaning the couch, high corners, stairs and car MUCH easier to do. ( I would always put off the vacuuming cause I really hated lugging out the big one!) This year I will be committing 100% to the full method as well as the organised Christmas and I can't wait!!

Wish I'd had this 25 years ago!
I'd seen a couple of gemma's videos on You Tube so I was intrigued. I read the book as far as the recipes then and there, then spent my day off getting organised to do this. Gemma is very motivating with lots of common sense tips and hacks. My house already looks and smell better, but the main thing is I feel in control and can enjoy my hobbies etc without feeling guilty. As the book has arrived during the 1st week of Christmas countdown I will be reading those chapters as I go along. I will also be trying the recipes which sound great. As a 50 something Nana, I recommend this to anyone who feels overwhelmed by housework.

He probado muchas rutinas de limpieza, tengo 5 hijos y poco tiempo para limpiar. Esta rutina me ha sido tan efectiva que la he pasado a mi agenda para tenerla presente cada semana. Ahora dedico poco tiempo a limpiar y mucho a nuestras cosas. Ojalá lo traduzcan al español.
