Create a Happy Hermit Crab Home for Your Pet Crabs
I love going to the beach near where we live in Australia and picking up little hermit crabs that are sitting on the beach or in little rock pools. These cute little guys sit on my hand for a bit and then pop their sweet little heads out to have a look at what is going on. So when I saw this book on having them as pets I got it to read.I love how the author has carefully laid out the steps so that kids and their parents can follow along and prepare all they need to set up a successful crab tank. The author also discussed important facts that will ensure the happy survival of your pet hermit crab. For instance, I had no idea that table salt can kill hermit crabs and so you need to buy special aquarium salt! This is a great book for kids and adults that want to have pet hermit crabs and to know how to set up a healthy home for them.

Great insights on owning & caring for hermit crabs
Ever since I was little I've always been fascinated with these little sea creatures and have been strongly considering having them as pets. The only thing was I wasn't quite sure how it would work and still had some questions on my mind about setting it all up and such. So, in search for some answers, I came across this book on amazon and picked it up hoping that it'd help. And, I'm really glad that I did, because this book goes into great detail about the exact things needed to ensure the long term survival of these little critters.Such as, the importance of having the proper humidity level within your tank, the correct sized tank you'll need based on the number of crabs you choose to have as pets, distressing them so that they feel more comfortable, and so much more! I would highly recommend this book for anyone looking at having hermit crabs as pets.

Our hermet crab would have survived if we had this book
When you buy a hermit crab down at the beach, they sell you a basic cage with some rocks and a sponge and a bit of food. Each vacation I would bring one home and it would last maybe a few weeks at the most. Now I know why. I was not giving it salt water, I didn't maintain the proper humidity or temperature. Read this book and you will have a much better understanding of how to care for these pets and maybe they will probably survive quite a bit longer.Nice work by the author putting the content together.

My crabs are alive!
I enjoyed this because my poor crabs had to be rescued from the pet shop. They weren't much help. They keep them in aquarium rocks with no humidity. They didn't tell me they need sand to molt in and 80% humidity to breath as they have gills! Good thing I got this book.

It's ok...
This book had a lot of helpful information in getting started with keeping hermit crabs. I like that it had info regarding tank set up, and temp/ humidity control. These little guys need more than toxic painted shells and wire mesh cages...

Small but nice
It's a pretty small book, but nice so you know what you're getting into... Over all, very nice book. And it was free!

New to the hermits
We just bought two crabs named Kermit the hermit and Shelly boy and girl. This was informative for new owners.

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT
I just read this very slender book in about 5 minutes. It is full of poor grammar and misspelled words. But mostly I want to tell about the information included, or I should say not included. There are very vague setup descriptions and a shopping list. I was hoping to get specific instructions such as how many inches of sand should there be, how salty should the salt water be? How do you get the humidity up to 70% and keep it there if you put a screen top on as he recommends? Very frustrating. Save your money and go to Google.
