Do not put it in the dishwasher. It discolors which doesn't effect the functionality, but does effect the appearance.

Read carefully! NOT dishwasher safe!
This scoop is NOT dishwasher or even washing safe. I’m not even sure it’s food safe given that it doesn’t wash without the finish coming off. It stained my hands the cupboard and everything it touched after going through the dishwasher. I would not even trust using it near food.
