Q: Does this chair actually recline, or does "reclining" just refer to the fixed angle of the back?

The back to this chair is stationary, fixed at about 30 degrees off perpendicular, with the top 8-9 inches angled a bit farther off perpendicular. This is a really comfortable chair, especially for reading. There is also a slight "bounce" to the bent bamboo. which I find delightful. We bought one and liked it so much we bought a 2nd one ~ hope this helps!

Q: I have one of these chairs, and cannot figure out how to remove the cover for cleaning without disassembling the entire chair.

I don't think this chair should be advertised as having a removable cover. I was apprehensive when assembling the chair and have since realized it is no easy task to simply remove the cover. The chair does need to be partially disassembled.

If you mean does it recline and stay there like a classic recliner, the answer is no. It is more of a bounce-rocker, it doesn't go back and hold there.

Q: whats the weight rating on this thing? Im a large dude

I don't know the official weight rating, but my husband weighs around 200 lbs and it rocks back a tiny bit more than it does when I sit in it. I'm around 130.
